Why would the President of the United States give a political speech about "rounding up" aliens? And why would his base loudly cheer about it? Would they cheer this loudly if his speech were about rounding up drug dealers? Or about rounding up people who have obstructed legal investigations? Or who refuse to respond to congressional subpoenas? They are all just as criminal as entering the country illegally, you know. And if you're concerned about "criminals", why are you not calling for a police raid on the White House? There are plenty of criminals there!

Rabid xenophobes eagerly swallow so much of Trump's fake bushwa, it's pathetic. This crackpot hype is doomed to fizzle like his phony threat to shut down the border over his imaginary prayer rugs, duct-taped women, etc. etc., etc. after a Republican-run Senate and Republican-run House refused for two years to give the national debt-bloater taxpayer money for his "big, beautiful wall!" that he had promised Mexico would pay for. Many of the 11-12 million undocumented folks have been residing within the current US borders for quite some time, and these families have been integrated into the workforce as well as their communities. As attractive as ethnic cleansing may be for some, identifying, tracking down, apprehending, transporting, and incarcerating all these families for however long it takes for them to be processed, their cases adjudicated, and appeals addressed, is not practical. It would cost at least 100 billion dollars, wreak havoc with US businesses, outrage religious congregations, and compel their neighbors to instigate grass-roots protests against such a Big Government atrocity. It ain't gonna happen. "TEXAS used to belong to Mexico! We'll just tell them they all won free vacations in Brownsville, and return it while they're there!"
