Do you not recall the whole of Obama's first failed term? Only cooking the books brought unemployment below 7% before the 2012 election, that's pretty high. Most of his failed presidency was high unemployment. People who want higher taxes all have grubby mitts and are all trying to take from everyone else, usually at some point in which they know their own contribution will be limited or non-existent.

The attacks of 9/11 precipitated a decline in the economy of course. It was very costly. But to say Barrack Hussein Obama prevented a depression ......well you might as well say he prevented Kalifornia from falling off into the ocean. Usually when a recovery begins it is very robust at first. Not so with Barrack Hussein Obama. He was never friendly to business. Over regulated. Having never once presented a budget keeps businesses very leery of investing.

Infrastructure is a common requirement of government. Firefighters and Cops promote the general welfare as do military. Social Security, I understand it's original intent, but it became a ponzi scheme. It could be corrected with private accounts where an individual could invest where he/she sees fit. (I have done that successfully with my own HSA account.) We can have public education if it competes with parochial, private, and others by way of vouchers. Actually Renee, I know of some fire fighting Departments that are private with very good records.
