It was a political event in Iowa hosted by US senator Tom Harkin. They were playing the national anthem at the time the pic was taken.

Obama just didn't know what was going on for a second or too, right?

No, his hands were down the whole time. Other times he did put his hand over his heart(at other events at different times) but this one though, not at all.

There was a story about it in Time that I know of. The host was hosting the top 6 DNC candidates at the time, so I’d assume there were more than just a Time reporter on location.

Of course, it's great but I believe that it is short-lived and that the stock market will take a dump along with your 401k. The Bush recession is an example of what happens when the stock market collapses without warning.

Keep it safe from a stock market collapse. And a lot of ordinary Americans are not participating.

The Trump boom continues in spite of repeated warnings of its impending collapse. I cashed out a lot of stock in preparation for a significant correction before China finally caves under the burden of very heavy tariffs - that has cost me bundle.

Betting against Trump is usually a mistake.
Hopefully the Chinese will grow a spine and hang tough just long enough for me to find another entry point. ;-)

I have to say that betting against Trump is not usually a mistake because he usually comes out whole and leaves others in the dumpster.

It is all about Trump Vs. The Deep State. So far Trump is winning.
    So all Americans are winning.

There is no "deep state" and Trump won't be a winner. The only thing he wins at is bullying, and that leaves a bad taste.

The existence of The Deep State has been exposed at least since Eisenhower's fair well address.

"But cheering for the CIA and its shadowy allies to unilaterally subvert the U.S. election and impose its own policy dictates on the elected president is both warped and self-destructive. Empowering the very entities that have produced the most shameful atrocities and systemic deceit over the last six decades is desperation of the worst kind. Demanding that evidence-free, anonymous assertions be instantly venerated as Truth — despite emanating from the very precincts designed to propagandize and lie — is an assault on journalism, democracy, and basic human rationality. And casually branding domestic adversaries who refuse to go along as traitors and disloyal foreign operatives is morally bankrupt and certain to backfire on those doing it."
THE INTERCEPT, The Deep State Goes to War With President-Elect, Using Unverified Claims, as Democrats Cheer, By Glenn Greenwald, January 11 2017.

It will be far easier for Trump to win in 2020 than in 2016, and it was very easy in 2016.

Now that might actually cost Trump some votes.
I doubt that Rappinoe is smart enough to figure that out.

This dingbat doesn't realize Trump is probably the most gay-friendly POTUS the GOP has ever had.

Wrong. Actually, NAFTA created 14 million new jobs, most of which are in America. American companies were leaving long before NAFTA and are still leaving, in spite of Trump's rhetoric to the contrary.

And let's not forget Harley, BMW (no new plant), and that huge international company that changed its mind about relocating here, among others.

These companies are leaving because of Trump's trade tariffs.
