My post are now T post. Too old to do fencing twice.

 

I'm on light duty for a few days. One of my bad knees is acting up.

 

Mountains without clouds.

 

What do people think of this fence?

 

I think that's a nice option for what you're trying to achieve.

Coincidentally, I've been rebuilding sections of fence I built 30 years ago.



And as to your other question about siding, that's Hardy Plank (cement and fiber) on my house that we had installed a few years ago. It replaced the original T-111 siding. We're very happy with the look, and we've had no problems with it.

 

How long have you had the siding?

Have you painted it?

Is the trim made out of the same material? The window framing?

 

Yes on all counts. The siding was a bland off white color if memory serves me and it was painted after it was installed. The trim is made from the same material. We've had it 2 or 3 years.

I had several hanging posts that were held up by the wire for several years.
I discovered the virtue of laziness.

Billy goats will butt a weak post till they get out....love steel posts.

 

No goats here and the dogs never challenged the hanging chad.

 

I have been known to put beef in with the goats...but the wife doesn't approve. Nothin like the taste of home raised beef.

 

As long as you aren’t into nude sunbathing......should be fine.

 

Last I checked,Fences aren't for thinking.At least too mush.
They are for keeping privacy and security.
In some cases a wooden fence is used for TV shows.
But by and large a Fence is used to keep order.
Like a Garage.Like a Bathroom.Unless one could put up
a urinal in one's backyard up against a home.I know,I know
some unkempt backyards are lttered with old cars and the like.
Old used-up urinals.Even more important is to keep that kinda
place fenced-in.

An automated goat where I grew up was a vehicle used in orange groves. It had huge tires, an open steel body, and no top over the cab part. The word goat can describe all kinds of different things not to mention the old goat that runs the hardware store.

 

I put this in about 15 years ago:



The original plan was to put another circle around the rhododendron:



Then tie the circles together with a straight wall:



I also have the neighbor's "landscaping" to deal with:



If you can't see it, my fence is holding back several inches of wood chips.

I can't do this kind of work, these days. I've got a professional to look at it. He's supposed to give me an estimate next week.

Ventured out to Walgreens & the grocery store... even drove myself. Showed me Ive got a ways to go before back to normal.. whatever that is.

 

Goats are escape artists.

 

I am surprised you weren't restricted for 6 weeks before returning to work. Be careful, no matter how simple something may seem it may not be simple at all. You have been through something very extreme.

 

I like it, if you don't have small animals it is perfect.
