Republican lawmakers policies are to self-enrich while fooling enough voters to get re-elected, now they have to deal with Trump who actually wants to (and is) help the American Worker, Middle Class and society as a whole. Democrats are the same, but they pay lip service to the lunatic socialists that want to impose oligarchy in place of our Liberal Constitutional Democracy. If you care about your Liberty, Freedom and our Democracy, you have to vote for Trump. As for GDP, it's not what we want, but we are powering through 7 rate hikes, and it's still at a growth rate 45% better than what Obama handed off. In addition to the rate hikes, the Fed has also been unloading it's balance sheet.
You are partially right, trump is not a typical politician. He doesn't appear to care what either side of the isle thinks. He would probably be a good president if he weren't a drooling, brain-dead idiot. He seems to lack the ability to think anything through, he refuses to analyse any situation, and he has the wit and temperament of a pre high school girl. Such a man has no business leading the local chapter of the elks lodge let alone the country and world. As far as trump actually wanting to help the American worker and middle class... Are you high? trump doesn't care about anyone or anything. His only motivation is gaining adulation. Sometimes it helps the middle class, most times not. But don't kid yourself, he doesn't give a flying f*** about you or me or anyone else in the middle class.
The Democrats increased spending 10% for 2008 and then 20% in 2009 when they bragged about not having to deal with a President Bush again. Then they kept it over $1,000B for the next four years.
Because of the republican caused worst recession in 80 years. But you knew that. Republican Incompetence is expensive to fix.
The military is 3.1% of GDP, that is direct military spending and does not include military healthcare, military benefits or military retirement. All which should be included in the cost of defense. Adding those it jumps to over 4% of GDP. Social security is 4.9% of GDP but is an insurance and should not be considered as a social welfare program. If it was eliminated we would see an equal elimination on the revenues portion of the budget. Removing Social Security Insurance makes the largest outlay defense and it’s associated costs. Followed by the remainder of all discretionary spending combined.
The Republicans restrained spending growth and along with their huge tax revenue increase brought the deficit down from their peak recession of $400B to that measly $161B. They had to negotiate with Bush for 2008 and they didn't get the increase the wanted. 2009 they cut him out completely.
Still waiting for you to explain how Bush could have and should have vetoed the 2009 budget as you claimed.
Then refute what I posted and explain how Bush could have and should have vetoed the 2009 budget which had a $1,400B deficit.
Every administration since 9/11 has been blamed for spending much more than it takes in. That is a deficit. War is expensive. We have spent trillions blowing up caves. We even spend to protect and keep Afghanistan's illegal poppy trade in business while at the same time are paying billions at home to combat illegal drugs and drug addiction. When budgets are hacked out in congress they are by means of compromises. The great recession that began in 2008 meant far less revenue coming in an much more going out. Meanwhile we were fighting wars on several fronts. Our military was being depleted to extremes and not updated all through the Obama administration. You talk a 100 billion. The cost of running our government is 10 times more than that each year. A good portion, unfortunately is in interest. Government contracts will always cost more than the same private sector contract. Is there waste and abuse? Heck yes. Billions not just in military but in government run social programs as well. It all adds up. We blow up a cave and it costs 20 million or so for a few minutes of fireworks. We build "green buildings" that cost 40% more than conventional buildings with no pay back for the life cycle of the building. There is pork spending in every congressional district. Now we are fighting a losing political border battle. So now we are rebuilding our military but in order to do so for every $40 dollars spent on the military we have to spend $60 on social programs, including housing illegals which cost 3 times as much as keeping a convict in prison. There are no simple answers. We spend too much. It's the cost we pay for freedom.
They couldn’t cut him out of the 2009 budget. Basic civics. The deficit exploded in 2009 and after, because of the republican caused worst recession in 80 years. As you well know.
There is no point in trying discuss as you will simply state you have already refuted what is posted and then not respond to direct questions about your assertions.
That is about what somene with only a 6th grade knowledge of government might say but Ibknow your's isbhigher than that. The Democrats controlled the Congress and the budget. The buck doesn't stop with the President are you really going to make the absurd claim that after taking back the Congress Pelosi and Reid and the Democrat chairmen all rolled over and past Bush budgets or the he could have vetoed the 2009 budget bill?
Basic history they did. Yes that Democrat budget did now explain how he could have and should have vetoed that budget bill.
"Presently.."? Your chart only goes to 2017, which was governed by Obama's last budget. Let's wait until we see more current Trump numbers before we pass judgment.
I already know now explain how Bush could have and should have vetoed the 2009 budget bill. Prove YOU know how budgets become law budget history.
Basic civics, they wouldn’t. the deficit exploded as a result of the republican caused recession. As you well know.
Great! Then you understand they bills can’t be law h til the president signs it, absent a veto proof majority. Which means the president owns every single bill he signs. Well done.
