    That's refreshing.

I would like to see her sit down and discuss issues with some CNN, MSNBC types and see how she holds up under pressure. The ad is good, but it's just an ad.

Thanks for the post on this interesting candidate. This was only her introduction announcement video. I am sure we will be hearing more about her in the coming months. I found this Post article, not much else yet.

    https://nypost.com/2019/08/22/meet-...onal-hopeful-billing-herself-as-the-anti-aoc/

“I think people like AOC and that group are focusing on an agenda that is so detrimental to our country,” Lauf told The Post. “They are not being leaders. They are part of the problem.”
Lauf said she felt compelled to run after Underwood this month called for the impeachment of Trump.
Lauf accused the 32-year-old incumbent of not representing the mostly rural, traditionally Republican district that the Democrats narrowly won with 52.5% of the vote in the 2018 midterm election.

She calls Woodstock the Heartland? There was a view of cornfields in her video. It may be on of the few fields left. Woodstock, The county seat of McHenry County, while 50-60 miles northwest of Chicago is considered an outlying suburb. It is an area that is growing but not at the sprawling pace of other towns and villages in the same congressional district. The 14th congressional district in Illinois is winnable for Republicans.

Hi, MelKor. As you are a new member I invite you to visit the "Elections and Campaigns" sub-forums and search all the way back to late 2016 - perhaps starting around page 70 or 80 - with an emphasis on the number of threads people were making about how Trump would never win. We had one poster who is no longer with us that literally and I mean LITERALLY started five threads a day on the subject. There is also THIS infamous thread which never fails to amuse.

    Bottom line? Never say never.

I live in district 11, and district 14 (west of me) is where corn fields start.

If she does get any traction, I’ll be curious to see how well the racist and white supremacist and anti immigrant accusations bounce off her?

    Time will tell.

I's say the 11th is defiantly much more rural than the 14th district. In the 14th, Kane and Kendall counties to the west of McHenry County, is still fairly rural and not nearly as dense from what I remember. I grew up in the 6th congressional district. We used to go west to the cornfields where there was a dragstrip in Plano.

Aurora, Naperville, Bolingbrook and Joliet are not rural areas. Plainfield and west of it is District 14 and that’s where corn fields start.
I freaking live here, don’t tell me it’s rural area because there are no fields in close proximity to my house.

I knew Naperville and Bolingbrook several years ago. Naperville used to be a nice small sleepy town of about 25,000. Now it's close to 100,000. I worked there for a while during college years at a furniture factory that is now long gone. That town has really grown, probably not for the better. Bolingbrook was all cornfields until it was turned into subdivisions in the 70's. Aurora, was always pretty rough. I had no use for that area, probably still don't. I lived in DuPage County. It was very red at the time. The whole area including your district is now mostly blue.

Time to take it back. I know your fat ass Dem very rich governor too. He is a disgrace to his family name.

It's what socialists do. They have zero party loyalty and hate everyone who doesn't agree with them. Pelosi included. She's just another racist to the squad.

Bunk, you don't know what you're talking about. That district was represented by Randy Hultgren-R from 2010-2018 , he was a friend of mine when I lived in IL, we are both from Wheaton. The Democrat who beat him last time only got 52.5% of the vote. Since 2000 that district only voted for a Democratic presidential nominee once, Obama in 2008, and that by 1%. Yes, they voted for Trump in 2016. I'd say she has a real good shot.

Of course the LW will attack her as they do all minorities who stray from the liberal plantation.

The poor girl seems obsessed with AOC.

Get back to me when she actually WINS in 2020.

    Until then? :bored:

AOC IS the face of your party. Not quite sure why you think Lauf can't win a TDS-free district Trump won in 2016 and that is now represented by a radical Democrat.

Lol sadly that's true but then everything is racist in Communist California...the US would be golden if we could pull all of our conservatives out, drop that state from the union, and then build a very high wall to keep them out.

Until the commies attempt to leave the union, that would be unlikely.

However, all who sign to leave, or fight against the US govt should forfeit any claim of citizenship forever out.

Well, it was LOCKED by the Mods (before any "wager" could actually be made).

(Are you questioning the decision to lock the thread?)
^You may want to familiarize yourself with PF Rule #8.

So? Why would any Mod "sticky" a thread just because someone is using an ancient 3-year-old thread just to obsessively troll another member?

Do you have an answer for that one?

And, why are you trying to troll another member based on a BS "Narrative"?

Do you have an answer for that?

Now back to the Actual Topic:

IF Lauf can win, that would be quite a feat.

As of now, she seems like a Misguided GOP AOC Wannabe trying to make a name for herself by leeching off of AOC's name.

    Carry on. :salute:
