Thank you for establishing that you have nothing of any substance to offer.

The poll support PRECEDES the debates! Most of those people were PERENNIALS who ALWAYS put their names up and NEVER get taken seriously.

I'm one that would prefer to have a GOP option other than trump, someone that would say clearly that they share many if not all positions but that they "won't be a dick about it" ie: a kindler gentler republican, but I honestly see zero point in that.

So despite the fact that I'd like an alternative, I just don't see it happening, there wouldn't be nearly enough support so the republicans will just have to play the cards they were dealt for better or worse.

And if you were given a primary vote between the BLOTUS and Sanford who would you choose?

We are discussing the GOP primary, Jake. Which would be the lesser of those two bad options?

    https://www.ontheissues.org/Mark_Sanford.htm

This guy looks like a 'Christian Dominionist.' He's not going to appeal to a very large segment of Trump supporters or anyone on the left.

He'll get the 'frumpy-fundy-never-Trumpy' vote, but thats about it. And theres not enough of them to win an election (by a long shot).

I don't know what or who a blotus is so, try again without the name calling, then i'll consider answering the question.

Sanford only needs to win the GOP primary to defeat the BLOTUS.

As far as winning the General goes the BLOTUS has nothing on the left and virtually nothing in the middle and has lost ground on the right.

Bear in mind that as a "dominionist fundy" Sanford is a direct challenge to the support that Pence provides to the GOP ticket.

Depending on how well Sanford does he might replace Pence in the general.

The BLOTUS supporters that are locked in are not going anywhere but there are nowhere near enough of them for him to win.

Somehow the BLOTUS has to find another bunch of suckers to dupe for his 2020 con job.

Not sure that Americans are all that keen when it comes to "fool me twice"!

Not voting for either would be the right decision.

ya, sorry, if you can't use POTUS then I refuse to engage with you, haven't put you on ignore but I can't see anything productive coming out of conversation so its best to just shut it down now.

Since none of Trump's challengers have any reason to expect unseating Trump in primaries, their motivation is speculative. I think it's fair to say that being "spoilers" may be the primary reason. Clearly, this wasn't meant to benefit Trump. A lot of people in the GOP hate Trump's guts so this could be payback. Impact? Uncertain.

Spim, play by your own rules you wish to place on others, please. If you don't, the rest of us can play you by your rules, yes?

I dont blame them for having the desire to mount a challenge, I just think that they would clearly lose by a massive margin in the primary, and similar to johnson/Stein's results as a 3rd party. Which is unfortunate.

I assume there are others that would like to encourage some democratic nominee to break off and run 3rd party as well.

With that said, I'd listen to their positions, I'm open to anything within reason

Did you refuse to engage with everyone who used the term Cheating Obama in the prior administration? Are you going to refuse to engage with everyone who uses the terms Slow Joe Biden, Crooked Hillary, Boot-Edge-Edge, Crazy Nancy, Little Marco, Mr Magoo, Pocahantas, etc, etc, etc because those are just a FEW of the names your BLOTUS has for other people?

Not if they use it. But yes if they abuse it.

It just gets everything off to a bad start, can you understand that?

    Ps. Who's mr. Magoo?
