It is part of the knee jerk not having to think practiced reaction of lying about the press and defecting and obstructing discussions of issues. Jumping ugly at the NYT tweet for sloppy phrasing is right in line with slamming those who want gun regulations because they mistakenly used the term clip versus magazine. An open minded thinker figures out that the person innocently used the term clip instead of magazine and then proceeds to debate or discuss the issues. Yet certain types of people here have long ago abandoned honest open debate either because they lack the capacity to do so or are only interested in slamming those who they disagree with.

This behavior of attacking the person or the style of writing instead of debating the issues with an person of opposing viewpoint is used by certain people here as a standard tactic. Example instead of a dishonest debate is when someone just says crap such "you lefties love Communists" toma person who is nither a lefty not loves Communists.

It gets frustrating.

You think airplanes plotted it and then aimed themselves at the towers?

 

They retracted and revised and extended, they were called on it.

 

That it was written in the first place and accepted by the editorial board for publications says quite enough and needs to be called out.

 

Then why didn't they say it was terrorist who aimed at those buildings instead of blaming it on the airplanes. It was a horrible headline from it's intent to marginalize the fact it was an attack by radical Muslims to how they even worded it. They got called on it and retracted it.

Tell me if you had never heard of the attack and you read that headline would you know who did it? Who took aim?

He didn't say that, that's simply you making a classic Strawman Argument, one of your more common logical fallacies. He's asking how the airplanes took aim and brought down the Twin Towers since no mention is made of humans doing so but merely of the airplanes themselves doing it. I know what happened, but clearly the NYT didn't.
