Yeah, I have the same opinion. She is the epitome of an also-ran. The reason for this thread is that from a conservative's perspective, she's the one who would be the most likely to sway their vote from Trump. A good military background, actually comes across as a normal person, and if I were forced to give the nominees a finger rating, she'd win all six of mine. She's hot!

On the minus side, I've been to Hawaii (she's the governor there) and she obviously doesn't have a problem laying taxes on with a trowel.

No, she's not the Governor. She's a US House Representative from Hawaii. She's also a twenty year vet (a major) and a martial arts instructor.

Then I guess I'm a lot like opin8d. I don't know much about her. Was just trying to explain how, from a conservative's perspective, she comes across as the only viable candidate currently being fielded. The rest of them seem quite insane.

It's like, if you were asked what republican the republican party should nominate, you probably wouldn't name Trump. You'd probably name somebody who you think is, relatively speaking for a republican, not the worst candidate they could nominate.

    Yes. Tulsi is quite something.

She is only 38 and has several Presidential Cycles in front of her.

    A Hawaiian Girl, for sure.

Which is why the left threw her under the bus, they hate the military. Once she gets a stern talking to, she'd make a great Republican

We don't hate the military. We love the military. We only HATE that it isn't used for defense.

So tell us, why did the DNC throw her away? Is it true they actually had Google censor her? The one candidate with a real change of beating Trump.

I'm not with the DNC, but the answer is obvious. She's not the only one with the chance to beat Trump but she is definitely one of the only ones.

She was certainly their best chance, sane and has crossover appeal. She dominated Harris, Trump would be in a pickle debating her, the rest? I dont see it.

They tossed their ace in the hole. Big mistake, it will cost them.

Well if Biden or Warren is the nominee, yeah they are screwed. We'll see. Personally, the DNC's end has been coming for awhile and that's coming from someone on the left. Personally I want to see a sanders trump debate. If anything it would definitely be entertaining. Americas grandpa vs Americas (patriotic although mistaken) dream of capitalism. Tulsi will have another more likely chance of success in 2024 and I'll support her there as well, but if somehow she is the nominee in 2020 i'll vote for her, no questions asked.

They are not doing much to appeal to moderates. You have the "squad" lurching left and no one is really reigning them in. "Free" everything and hate Trump will only convince those who were solid left, to begin with. I think them ALL raising their hands to "free" health care for ALL illegals was the moment Trump won 2020.

Agreed on the entertainment of that debate.

The typical answer is that she has some questionable skeletons in her closet concerning gays. I think the real answer is that she doesn't have the political clout to convince the DNC to support her.

The more I study politics, the more it appears to be this huge spiderweb of conflicting relationships. It's like the prisoner's dilemma writ large.

There's this huge pulsating blob of psychopathic/sociopathic people all trying to gain as much political power as they can get, but the only way they can get it is through relationships with others who would rather have that power for themselves, so they only use each other if there is a political advantage.

That's why the lack of normal people is so damn normal in politics.

Imagine if all of those people vying for the democratic nomination were neighbors. You'd have this chick next door who lied about being indian to get her accepted into college. Okay, that's... yeah, it's weird, but okay. Then if the neighbors started whispering about how they don't think this lily white chick isn't exactly 100% native American, she goes to one of those "who are you" places and then bounces from neighbor to neighbor showing everybody a paper that clearly says "whiter than whitey" but she's so off her damn rocker that she didn't even read the damn thing.

Then you have good ol' lunchbox Joe next door who never quite knows what the conversation is about, and doesn't even know about fixodent so his dentures don't fall out. He seems like a decent sort, but he's as sharp as a bowling ball.

Then that weird dude down the street who keeps telling everybody he's Mexican, and then changed his name from O'rourke to Beto which isn't even a damn Mexican name! Maybe Gonzalez, but Beto? Duuude! Clearly off his rocker, but okay.

Then you have the hot middle aged broad across the street. Seems nice enough, and most importantly, you wouldn't mind if she came to your house to watch the game. Definitely a hottie, but the most important thing is that you just kinda know that she's not going to excuse herself to go to the restroom and then take an upper decker (take a dump in the tank of your toilet so even if you flush, it's still brown).

Sane people and politics don't mix. Nobody in their right mind wants a job that means you get to decide what kind of vegetables your neighbor is allowed to grow in his backyard.

Free healthcare for all illegals definitely frightened me as well, and I'm in the single payer for all crowd. Too much pandering for the sake of the party is a major problem for everyone. It's still early and me personally, it won't be the eotw of Trump wins 2020, but I can't wait to see what happens in the general.

You are right, if there were normal people in politics i'd be running. Politics are for the insane among us. Then again there's this Andrew Yang guy.

She definately has impressive assets, or at least some good points of interest. She looks like an upfront girl.

Thanks for the link. I stand corrected.

"Four qualified for convention delegates including: attorney John Wolfe, Jr., prison inmate Keith Russell Judd, perennial candidate Jim Rogers, and pro-life activist Randall Terry."

Never heard of any of those guys except Randall Terry. What was he doing running as a Democrat? Does that seem weird to you?

I'm not excusing Google, just asking someone to prove a lot of brash claims. I'm guessing there is no proof, nor an admission that those were opinions floated as "alternative facts."

The DNC does not belong to Hillary, she's done. Nor does it belong to Brazile or Rollings. Neither are among the current DNC leadership.

Please leave the personal insults out of your posts. I've been civil with you.

Because she understands the intellectual bankruptcy of our two party system, and probably the moral bankruptcy even better, and could not go with the GOP.

She agrees with Bernie on important matters like healthcare and education and others, and knows that the GOP is on the wrong path.
