A girl who claimed white classmates cut her dreadlocks admits she made the story up, school says

How many hoax crimes so far this year? Imagine the tension this probably created at this school and community. Got to respect the family though, for their apology.

 

They need to throw the book at the people who fake these "hate crimes". I don't care that she's a kid, this crap does as much (or more) to raise tensions amongst Americans than anything two bickering political parties are doing.

This kid needs a wakeup call before she becomes the next Jussie Smollett or Blasey Ford.

These hoaxes are also a slap in the face to people who may have suffered actual hate crimes back in the day.

Edit: I hadn't realized this, but Mike Pence's wife Karen apparently teaches art at that school.

"“While we are relieved to hear the truth and bring the events of the past few days to a close, we also feel tremendous pain for the victims and the hurt on both sides of this conflict. We recognize that we now enter what will be a long season of healing. This ordeal has revealed that we as a school family are not immune from the effects of deep racial wounds in our society. We view this incident as an opportunity to be part of a learning and healing process, and we will continue to support the students and families involved."

WHAT??
"How about this ordeal has revealed that false claims or racial attacks and bias should be taken serious due to the harm they inflict on our society and will not go unpunished."
How about learning and healing for the white kids and their families?

The Fairfax County NAACP chapter, meanwhile, has issued its own statement acknowledging the latest developments and asking for Amari’s privacy to be respected.

“Amari is not a public figure,” it reads. “She is a young girl who made a mistake, and we are asking everyone, supporters and critics alike, to please respect the family’s privacy at this time.”

The statement also urged the public to avoid using this instance to discount other “racially motivated crimes.”"

SHE went public and an example for the other students should be set. It is EXTREMELY serious one a person accuses other of being racist and engage in a hate crime.

At least her parents issue a sincere apology and hopefully they do so inner reflection on how her daughter is being taught these and how to amend them.

I read this story on a Facebook post. One of the first thoughts that ran through my head was that this story was probably BS. Turn out I was right.

 

That's pretty harsh, but it's a free country.

I can understand cutting off hair of the athlete - those dreadlocks can cause you damaging your scalp. Especially in wrestling where it’s legal to grab you by your hair. That kid probably faced 2 options - you cut them off or we don’t let you fight.

As for teachers messing with students’ hair - I’m of the opinion that any teacher that touches a student should be fired. If you teach you don’t pat on shoulders, don’t touch their faces and their hair, don’t hug and in general avoid physical contact.

 

The big lie, again, debunked because, why not. I heard about a woman ranting and screeching in CO at a drug store. I bet it turns out she's actually a democrat. Makes sense, Eagle CO isn't exactly the hotbed of CO conservatism....

Willingly accusing people of racism is truly horrible especially in today’s environment where people lives can be ruined. Someone can call you the Nword and you still keep your job and go about your day. No one else
knows it happened. You might be pissed but life goes on. You accuse someone of fake racism publicly that they didn’t commit and they can lose their job, destroy friendships, family relationships, etc. Like fake rape charges that sticks with you just like the actual act.
