I really can not force him to run or even vote for him if he did, so it's not my place to say, but I wonder, why not now, now that Al Gore's message has sunk in and the Democrats itching to dethrone Donald Trump, doesn't Al Gore run for president, again? He won the popular vote last time he ran, and I don't know if Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders remember Al Gore advocating for the environment... Why no Al Gore 2020 campaign? What has Trump got on the Clinton/Gore administration? Did Trump donate a lot to pay for Clinton/Gore so Gore won't stand up for the environment when the world needs it? I think, if Al Gore asked his question again about running for POTUS, and said no - with all the hard work and time and money Al Gore's invested in climate awareness and Paris Accord United States pulled out of, than that was the fatal decision that changed history.
Being President is not an easy job and Gore is not a young man. He may feel that he can do more for the environment by working on it alone rather than being distracted by all the other duties of a President. Gore has done VERY well financially since 2000 and never needed any of Trump's money.
Lard ass has literally made billions since his time as VP using his connections and illegal inside information. Furthermore, he is still making tons of money with his continual duping of the masses promoting global warming....errr....climate change. If libs would take the time to follow his money trial, they'd have a much much bigger meltdown than they did when Trump was elected. The guy is a corrupt POSchiff. He's all about greed now....no time for anything else.
The two major parties over the last several decades have never tended to be much in favor of nominating someone they nominated before who then lost. A general thinking being that they have had their shot and its time to move on.
Exception that proves the rule. 1968 was an extremely difficult time to be nominated and for the GOP potential candidates like Rockefeller and Romney had flamed out early and it was too soon for Reagan so Nixon was very much in a "last man standing" situation.
In August of 1968 during the Democratic National Convention in Chicago the SDS and the Weather Underground who were useful idiots of the Kremlin basically handed Nixon the White House. Then there's "what if" What if LBJ hadn't announced that he wasn't going to run for reelection in 68 and did win reelection . I showed up at MCRDSD in the last week of December in 68 for Marine Corps boot camp. The base was over packed to the max with recruits with almost a thousand sleeping in squad tents because there weren't enough quonset huts. Both the Army and Marine Corps had already got the word. LBJ was planning to send another 100,000 soldiers and Marines to Vietnam. That would have been 600,000 American troops in Vietnam by late 69. I think that would have meant I would have served in-country for for my tour of duty with the Air Naval Gunfire Plt. HQ Battery 1/13 and attached to 1/26 for 13 months. I would have never served with 1st ANGLICO
He wasn't planning on it. He predicted the world would practically end by 2020. I't's o.k. it made him rich anyway. Ever see the air conditioners on top of his mansion?
We've already crossed the point of no return with the environment. By the time the average, scientifically illiterate voter realizes this, they'll blame those of us who were vocal. They'll cry, "Why didn't you warn us?" We'll tell them we did. They'll say, "You didn't try hard enough to get our attention!" That's the way it always goes.
WHY NO AL GORE, 2020 ? C'mon. You wish 2020 more boring than it already is? Boring, except for Tulsi Gabbard, of course. Consider Sanders. Does anyone "feel the Bern" like 2016? Kamala, Warren, Biden, major YAWN ! Losers. Moi
Why on earth are we so entrenched that we constantly look to people who previously came up short, as our saviors? We do not need to look backward to 2016, , 2004, 2000, 1988, 1984, or 1980 to find our candidate either. There were reasons these candidates did not win and those reasons include inherent weaknesses in them as candidates. Lets move on.
It is Common (and Generally Accepted) Knowledge that the Butterfly Ballot in Palm Beach County cost Gore the Election. https://www.cnn.com/2001/ALLPOLITICS/03/11/palmbeach.recount/
Can Dems ever accept defeat? Instead of trying to be better, they always lean on excuses. .....not a good strategy.
