And besides all of that, since when has it become proper for a us vice president to interfere in investigations that are ongoing in a foreign country and to demand that prosecutors be fired? When did the vice president become dictator to the world nations?

One thing that I think people are forgetting is that back in May president trump said that his Department of Justice was investigating corruption and working with countries like the UK Australia and the Ukraine

For all we know all president trump was doing was asking the president of Ukraine to assist our Department of Justice with an on going investigation to include possible corruption by then vice president Biden

Joe Biden is not immune from criminal investigations simply because hes running for political office

    1. This particular witch hunt, attempting to dirty the Bidens, started years ago. The actions at the center of Trump's phony allegation occurred in late 2015 and early 2016, both the firing of Shokin and the shortened video of Biden bragging about it.

    2. Shokin was not investigating Burisma or it's shady "owner," so the claim that Joe wanted Shoken fired because he was investigating Hunter is completely bogus.

    3. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...orced-out-ukraines-top-prosecutor/3785620002/

"It wasn't because Shokin was investigating a natural gas company tied to Biden's son; it was because Shokin wasn't pursuing corruption among the country's politicians, according to a Ukrainian official and four former American officials who specialized in Ukraine and Europe."

Trump is not a noble soul trying to root out corruption, he is the corruption. He wouldn't know duty if it jumped up and bit him on his big ol' butt.

The deal here is that the only people who can be investigated for possible criminal activity are republicans, we are supposed to be forbidden from investigating any democrats for any possible criminal activites

It was warranted in order to oust Shokin, a very corrupt prosecutor. And it wasn't just us.

"It wasn't because Shokin was investigating a natural gas company tied to Biden's son; it was because Shokin wasn't pursuing corruption among the country's politicians, according to a Ukrainian official and four former American officials who specialized in Ukraine and Europe."

"Coercing the Ukrainian president to find dirt on his political opponent?"

    Spin.

"Urging him to work with... ...our Attorney General?"

    Spin. Asking isn't urging.

At any rate, it was the proper thing to do.

"it's all over every media outlet on the planet."

    With added spin.

    Mark my words.

    1. I'm not now nor have I ever been a Democrat. If you must label me, call me an idealist.

    2. Trump's judge selections don't come from Trump.

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/mar/10/trump-legacy-conservative-judges-district-courts

"Unlike past presidents, Trump has turned the job of picking nominees over, almost wholly, to the White House counsel’s office, which in turn has worked from lists drawn up by the Federalist Society, the country’s premier network of conservative lawyers."

He's not intelligent enough to choose for himself, he simply nominates whoever they tell him to.

Trump was a Democrat for most of his life, and was pro-choice until he decided that the evangelical vote was important to him. He's not a real Christian, just a con man giving lip service to a voting bloc.

    3. Of course he got away with it. That's what money buys you ... exemption from the problems that plague the rest of us. Only his first couple of deferments were education-related. Once out of college, he and his daddy paid a doctor to classify him as 4F because os fake bone spurs in his ankle -- and he doesn't even remember which ankle it was. He's a fake, then and now. Legal is the only thing that matters? Ethics and honor be damned?

    4. Trump is toast. Get the butter ready.

The order refers to Bolton telling Fiona Hill to alert WH lawyers about the lamebrain scheme to extort Zelensky. Bolton is a war monger but he is smart enough to know what was going on was very, very wrong.

"The order came after a meeting in early July between then-special envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker, Bolton, Sondland, Hill and Energy Secretary Rick Perry. During the meeting, Sondland blurted out to the other officials present that there were “investigations that were dropped that need to be started up again” in Ukraine, according to a U.S. official familiar with the matter. The officials understood him to be referring to Burisma, the energy company, and former vice president Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden, who sat on its board.
    Bolton went ballistic."
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...de31a4-ef52-11e9-89eb-ec56cd414732_story.html

This, like the WB complaint, brings up another instance when WH lawyers (whoever they are) were told about the illegal effort to involve a foreign government in our election.

The allegatuons were not real, not about the Bidens and not about Ukraine's so-called involvement with the 2016 election. Wishful thinking on Trump's part, as with many Fox News watchers and those who get their news from Breitbart, Infowars, and The Blaze. The Ukraine hacking story, and the ties to Clinton, plus the ridiculous story of one of the DNC's servers being in Ukraine somewhere ... all of that came directly from Putin.

Don't forget how obsequious Trump has always been towards Putin, like the disgusting display in Helsinki. When his own intelligence orofessionals told him, a couple years ago, that Kim Jong Un had successfully tested ICBMs that could reach the U.S., Trump refused to listen because Putin had told him it wasn't true. "I don't care. I believe Putin." That sums up Trump's presidency IMO.

As for that last question: read the incomplete transcript that the White House provided of his call with Zelenskiy. He mentions Rudy and Barr over and over, urging Zelenskiy to work with them both, and Trump went on and on about the Bidens, not corruption in general.

Now I know who the lawyer was.

“Bolton and Sondland met in early July with then-special envoy for Ukraine Kurt Volker, Hill and Energy Secretary Rick Perry. During the meeting, Sondland’s agenda for Ukraine began to become clear, when he blurted out to the other officials present that there were ‘investigations that were dropped that need to be started up again’ … Hill told lawmakers that after the meeting, Bolton instructed her to go raise their concerns about the shadow Ukraine operations with White House lawyers. Bolton said he didn’t want to be part of any ‘drug deal’ that was being cooked up on Ukraine, one person familiar with Hill’s testimony said. Hill met with NSC lawyer John Eisenberg to express her concerns about Giuliani’s activities and how they were being carried out by Sondland and Volker…”

Debunked, no proof, no indication of any corrupt activity by Biden or his son. Stupid Hunter may have been to take the job under the circumstances, but not criminal.

I don't suffer from kneejerk-itis. And FYI, aren't Trump's three oldest children doing business on his behalf in various foreign countries as we speak here? Just sayin'.

Trump couldnt weed out corruption in the Ukraine with the existing president (who fired attorney general Shokin at the behest of Biden) he had to wait until Volodymyr Zelensky was elected before he could go after corruption by Biden/Obama. What was Trump "phony" allegation against Biden in 2015 or 16? Biden didn't make the brag on video until late January of 2018.. so you are mistaken about the timeline.

Signed affidavit from Shokin says otherwise (which was signed before the impeachment witch hunt started - so he has no reason to lie):

Again, this is liberal spin from the corrupt mainstream media (outright lie). The reality of the situation is biden withheld 1.2B until Ukraine fired its attorney general (the left downplays this role by calling him just a prosecutor) See image above from sworn affidavit.

Trump is a noble soul he as reduced violent crime in this nation by over 5% and we have the best economic engine in the world. He has supported and defended the faith community. He advocates heavily against abortion. If Trump was "corruption" how come none of the allegations from the left (in the past three years) have come to fruition? Absolutely nothing. The hypocrisy of the left is astounding. Trump is corrupt for looking into corruption. LOL Leftist paradox #9342

If President Trump said water was wet I would think that was inappropriate. But I don't consider "inappropriate" to equal "impeachable".

How about illegal? As in soliciting the help of a foreign country in an election.

What's that say about the person you put against him? She was seen as less than him. This is your own fault, should have voted Romney in 2012, instead you folks kept that loser Obama and America saw Trump as the only solution to that level of fail...

On issues of Foreign Policy a president should have a free hand. If he committed an illegal act he can be prosecuted once he leaves office.

He attempted to use our tax dollars and military aid to coerce a foreign government to affect our democracy.

That's very clearly an impeachable offense - and a clear violation of his oath of office.

There's no chance that he deserves a pass as the very election he has illegally attempted to affect is in the offing.

If he shoplifted or something, then I'd probably agree.

But, what he did in this case is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable.

And, he is again obstructing justice - which is also a clearly impeachable offense. The president is NOT above investigation. And, our congress has every right to exercise their oversight of the executive branch.

To support the policy that no President in office can be charged with a crime, is another way of saying that President is above the law. While no President should be harassed with non-serious charges, they should be accountable for serious offenses while in office. Clinton having consensual sex while in office was NOT a serious offense. Trump using his Presidential powers to shape foreign policy around his personal political need to attack his political opponents, is an abuse of power, & definitely an impeachable offense.

that turns everything into a matter of opinion. What if a president having "consensual sex" while in office left him exposed (no pun) to possible blackmail?

As I've said, no one is "above the law". Not even the president. But the presidency must be beyond the law at least to a degree otherwise the independence of the executive branch of government is endangered.
