The "throw me the briar patch" talking point still reeks of desperation.

Comey testified that the FBI agents who interviewed Flynn didn't think he had lied. Whether or not those agents had access to other intelligence indicating he had lied is unknown. Obviously, he did, since he was indicted for such and pled guilty. The issue was over whether or not he'd discussed the Obama sanctions on Russia ing late December 2016, or whether he was just wishing the Russian ambassador a Merry Christmas and consoling him over the crash of a Russian aircraft with military aboard, in - I believe - Syria.

He plead guilty knowing that if he didn't the Mueller team would go after his son.

Supporting the first President to ever be impeached during his first term is a problem.

Has he said that? I think he pled guilty because he lied about the content of his telephone calls to the Russian Ambassador, in addition to other charges related to registration as a foreign agent (Turkey) and tax issues.

Flynn is going to head stomp them. His lawyer, she's amazing and they have this one dead to rights. He's walking and likely filing a Civil Suit for huge $$$.

... more crap you don't know that will come out to MSM some day. The DoJ withheld information from the courts in Flynn's case. Comey was a full on scumbag.

What information did DoJ withhold from the Courts? And, you didn't answer my question.

In fact it's not. The political use of impeachment was never intended, and in fact was warned against.

The electorate understands that the Democrats have been trying various ways to 'Impeach 45' even before he was inaugurated. The Left has so demeaned the term that it has now become meaningless. The ridiculous Maxine Waters had already made nonsense of it a couple of years ago when she was also encouraging Leftists to physically attack her political opponents. Do you really believe that the American people care what Maxine Waters or Adam Schiff says anymore?

Impeachment meant something when politicians at least had the semblance of pride in their jobs, reputation and stature but those days are long past, and you have people like the Clintons, Waters. Green, Pelosi, Schiff and many others who are responsible for this great shift in political morality.

Johnson was essentially a pro-slavery Tennessean, who by a quirk of history (and Lincoln's VP choice) failed to carry out a "balanced Reconstruction Program" after the Civil War and was almost ousted from office by a Republican Congress. Nixon resigned before impeachment and removal to avoid becoming the first President to be ousted from office. Clinton was impeached over lying under oath, but not convicted by the Senate. Trump will most likely be impeached for both abuse of power and criminal acts.
American politics has always been rough. Impeachment is a political act and was intended to be so. That's why the Senate "super majority" for conviction on impeachment was set so high, the same two-thirds vote necessary to overcome a Presidential veto. That isn't coincidental. I predict the articles of impeachment will include at least one abuse of power charge (a crime against the State) and one criminal charge, which could be prosecuted in a criminal court. Note: In addition to treason and bribery, it was proposed to add "maladministration," at the Constitutional Convention in 1787. Madison thought that too vague and instead proposed the phrase "high crimes and misdemeanors." It was a phrase used in English common law referencing crimes against Parliament by high ranking officials, which in our common systems is a reference to the sovereignty of the people, as held by the legislative branch. It is a "crime," not against a particular person, but the entire "people" themselves and, as such, a "political crime."
