Democrat, liberal and progressive policies are pushing rational people out of democrat, liberal and progressive states and it could bite them in the House of Reps. What with their pro homeless, pro illegal, pro criminal, pro drugs, pro taxes, along pro punishing the makers while rewarding the takers who would want to stay in those states if they didn't have to? If you're the kind of person who doesn't want to be taxed and regulated to death all while never knowing if the things you like most will be the next things to be banned, why would you stay?

To add to the rush to get out of NY and CA, my home state of NJ is also seeing people desiring to leave if they could and doing so when they can.

My bet is going forward democrat, liberal and progressive states will want to take in as many fast breeding illegals and refugees as they can and make damn sure they get counted in the census. And my guess is CA and NY saw this coming which is why they're doing everything possible to entice illegals to cross our border (which liberals really wish wasn't there) and move into those welcoming states where they get all sorts of freebies and are protected if not immune from our criminal laws.

BTW, this story is ending 2019 on a very happy note. Happy New Year. :alcoholic:

Happy New Year to you as well...

NY lost 2 seats in 2012. And I personally cannot believe ANYBODY lives in NJ to begin with...:)

You may think this is good news for conservatives, but logically it's not... CA and NY and NJ will remain reliably blue, while their populations moving may help change red states to purple (Texas) or purple states to blue (Arizona).

It's unknown, anyway... Food for thought...

We thought Obama deported thousands of illegals, so you saying it's not true?

Its part of the plan-NY and CA can't be anymore blue.

If people are pushed out, to vote democrat in other states-thats a good thing in their view.

As these states have welcomed millions of immigrants in, and kept enacting their policies, it's also pushed millions of residents that used to live in these states out.

Take a look for example at the massive exodus out of California over the last three decades, even as the overall population of the state kept rising.

Something that a lot of people don't realize, even if half these people leaving are Democrat and half Republican, that will still make Red states more Blue and leave the Blue states they left from more Blue than they were before.

I know it sounds completely counterintuitive but it's true. Let me try to explain.

There are two boxes, box A and box B.
Box A contains 14 blue people and 6 red people. Box B contains 4 red people and 1 blue person.
If you move 2 red people and 2 blue people from box A to box B, box A will now contain 12 blue people and 4 red people, while box B now contains 6 red people and 3 blue people.
    Notice something?
Even though the amount of red and blue people that moved were equal, both boxes now have a higher percent of blue people. (I know, sounds like a mathematical paradox, but I'll soon explain)

We started off with box A being 70% blue and box B being 20% blue.
We ended up with box A being 75% blue and box B being 33% blue.

Box A started off with a greater number of blue people, so when you move an equal number of red and blue out of the box you end up with a more concentrated blue. Box B started off almost all red, so when you bring a mix of half and half into the box it makes it more blue.
There's the same number of red and blue people there were before, but just by moving a few people, it ends up making both of the boxes more blue.
This would also still hold true even if box A started off with fewer people than box B.

If you want an even more simple example, imagine two circles in the sand. Circle A has 2 blue marbles and 1 red marble. Circle B has 1 red marble. If you move 1 red marble and 1 blue marble from circle A to circle B, circle A now has 1 blue marble and circle B has 2 red marbles and 1 blue marble. Both circles are more blue than they were before.

Or again, if a barrel contains 20 green apples and 10 red apples, and you remove all the red apples and then also remove a green apple for every red apple that you took out, that's going to leave the barrel with only green apples. If you put this mix of red and green apples (that you just removed) into another barrel that only contains 10 red apples, that's going to make this second barrel have a greater percentage of green apples than before.

It's how we do it. We work in the high wage states and retire in the poor red states.

Census Estimates Show California, New York Losing House Seats to Demographic Change

    The headline should read

    Census Estimates Show
    California, New York Losing
House Seats to Asinine Laws and Exuberant Taxes.

Not to mention people being crowded out of the cities.

The overpopulation has already pushed up land & housing prices to unaffordable levels. The state of CA in fact now has more population than the entire country of Canada!

Traffic on the roads in Southern California and the Bay Area is some of the worst in country. People from other parts of the country may laugh this off, "Who cares about a little traffic?", but that's only because they've never experienced it.

The danger is that liberals will flee b/c of the mess they created; then, having learned nothing, will move to red states and energetically work to spread the virus they fled to escape.

You have to love the way some conservative posters just regurgitate & parrot propaganda lines. Sort of calls into question the worth of anything & everything they post.

A week ago the OP started a thread breathlessly claiming that 'blue' states such as New York & California were going to pick up an extra 26 seats from 'red' states due to illegal immigration. Cue right wing talking points about liberals, illegals etc.

    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...eats-to-blue-states-for-2022-election.566082/

Today we have a thread on how those very same 'blue' states are going to lose seats to 'red' states due to liberals & illegal immigration. Cue right wing talking points about liberals, illegals etc.

Only one of these things can be true, unless you live in a world where every bit of propaganda you read is true until the next bit of propaganda comes along, then that is true.....and so forth. All you have to do then is choose from the standard list of right wing talking points to fill in the gaps.....until the next bit of propaganda.

I guess all of this saves actually having to think about stuff. Just regurgitate, parrot & repeat.

Yes, a few days ago I made a worrisome thread, but now I followed it up with more cheerful news, which by the way, I was happy to report. But instead of commenting on the content of the threads you chose to ignore it completely and focus on me. I’m flattered that you think my thoughts are more important than lib states losing people in droves.

There is no content, just propaganda that directly contradicts other propaganda. That some people on these boards have no issue treating all this propaganda as truth is the only content in this thread of any value.

If that’s what you believe then I guess you’ll be ending your intellectual contribution to this thread.

Calling out propaganda & clearly identifying its pushers & consumers is always a worthwhile activity.

I wasn't aware CNN posted on this forum, can you direct me to the membership list & show it to me? If so I will happily go through some of its posts & criticise where appropriate. I engage with people who are members and their posts.

You said you call out pushers and consumers of propaganda. It’s strange how you would suddenly narrow that down to this board and not the vast amount of pushers and consumers who consume the propaganda CNN spews. You’ll probably never tell me why that is, but you probably already realize that I know why.

    It's already happening.

In another forum there's someone from Montana who tells us that he sees Californians coming all the way to his state and turning it Blue, especially in the city areas.
It's happening all across the Western United States; Washington State, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Colorado. Remember, California is a state with 40 million people and all these other states have only a small fraction of that.

These people that are fleeing bright blue states; where are they moving to (red states) and how will they vote (Democratic)?

How is this good news for team red?

Well, in his (slight) defense, this thread is not propaganda, while the first thread you pointed out clearly was.

These are estimates by the US Census department, which I wouldn't call propaganda....

Will be interesting to see how they compare to what actually happens after the census...

I still don't see how he thinks this might help the conservative cause, but hope springs eternal....
