I think you are looking at it the wrong way. I'm looking at this way: Did the killing of an American contractor by an Iranian backed militia (backed by the Quds force) bring us closer to war? I would say killing the Quds force commander is simply tit for tat for the killing of an American. When Americans are killed by state sponsored terrorism, I think we should retaliate. I realize you oppose that but whether this brings us closer to war or not depends on how rational you think the Iranian leadership is. Are they suicidal? Are they trying to bring on the 12th Iman? If thats the case, yes, Iran might have made a step towards war.

So what's your prediction on when we're going to war?

The one Sobo loves to pull out of his ass in discussions.

Note the Wikipedia entry on the ones he has talked about says plainly they have never been produced.

But how does it pertain to our national interest? I mean the interest of ordinary americans, not the interest of multinational companies.

    Hilarious.

Germany can not sink a carrier.

This case is different. The guy was a soldier from a country we were not at war with. It is a lot different than a terrorist who does not represent a legitimate government or movement. Bin Laden and his ilk were not cabinet level representatives of another legitimate country. That is like saying it is ok for the yemen fighters to kill Trump because trump helps SA attack them. Trump is not a terrorist, he is rep of our government. This is an attack on Iran.

Soleimani was an evil man whose death should be celebrated by anyone who cares about the people of Syria, Yemen, Iraq or Iran. Forces under his control have been responsible for thousands of deaths across those nations and have repressed the ambitions of the Iranian people for greater freedom. Hope it was a painful death.

We want to be sure terrorists don’t set up bases like they had just before 9/11.

That has nothing to do with the “evil multinational corporations”.

Why are the terrorist fighting us? You think one day they woke up and said Heh lets fight America? We were backing the "terrorists" against Russia in Afghanistan. We were friends at one time. Why did we back the Shah? Why did we back Isreal and allow the displacement of Palestinians for the benefit of European Jews? Our foreign policy over the last 60 years in the mid east has been for the benefit of corporations and Isreal and not the benefit of American people. The US and Europe established countries and boundries more in tune to the needs of the US and Europe than to traditional groups of the native populations and then asked them to live in peace.

Now if we stood back from the Mideast and reigned in Isreal in 20 years the death and destruction would be forgotten and we can live in peace with them. Look at Vietnam and the destruction we brought to that country and now we are friends and expats that live there love it and are treated well. I mean we killed almost 1 mill iraquis in that war to "free them from Saddam" That generation will have to die off before we can travel there safely. But every year we just make the area worse with our involvement.

▶ Let us remember : President Clinton let Osama bin Laden live because he was concerned about collateral damage.
A day before Sept. 11, 2001, former President Bill Clinton told an audience that he could have had Osama bin Laden killed, but chose not to, because an attack could have endangered innocent women and children in Afghanistan.

"I knew I could always kill him tomorrow"

Unfortunately he did not. Instead bin Laden killed us. Hours after Clinton spoke the 2001 terror attack was underway in the United States.
Donald Trump is a realist - not a dreamer.
He has faith and confidence in the American people. He knows evil will always persist in taking advantage whenever possible. Someone has to make hard and deadly decisions on behalf of protecting the future safety of Americans and the peaceful people of the world. President Truman had to do the same. Hopefully we will all benefit.
We cannot pretend like we live in the Garden of Eden. We have done that - and we know it does not work.

    "Peace through strength."

If you really believe that I don't know what to say. And please tell me how do they mean to do that? You pick out one segment of fighters and attribute their beliefs to all the fighters in all the groups. Where were these guys under Assad and Saddam and Qudaffi? There own governments handled them. These people and their beliefs have existed for a thousand years. Now all of a sudden after a thousand years of bickering among them selves they are going to band together under one person. They are way to busy fighting each other to join together. All we have done is give them an enemy to rally around by killing million of them and helping SA and Isreal kill more.

Let's kill 10 million of them and see if that works out better.

    As the saying goes

"The mass killings will continue until the attitude improves".

What amazes me is that some of you are quite content to give Iran a free pass to do what they want and kill when they want without retaliation.

Just let them kill American citizens, the military and target American assets and just bend over and take it.

    When is enough enough?

And the same people call Trump a coward?

PS: He is neither a coward nor a warmonger. He is rightly telling them that enough is enough!

Some in the American political spectrum aren't exactly supporters of the US. That is to say they empathize, encourage, and sometimes even assist our enemies.

Germany developed a cavitation torpedo. Its a torpedo that reaches high speeds and that creates a cavitation bubble around its hull. Its a very advanced weapon.

For obvious reasons we cant test it ourself on an american carrier, since we are allied. But when Iran would do it, we could not be held accountable.

Well then don't take it upon yourself to put words in his mouth.

You seem at a loss for anything of substance or interest to add.
