Yes, just like Republicans did with impeachment. They colluded with the White House there also.

Obama committed actual higher-level offenses for which he could have been impeached. Republicans wisely decided not to run a partisan circus side show. Thanks to Nancy almost every President will be impeached when the opposing party rules the House. Nancy just turned impeachment into a nothing burger political tool this year.

The charge was voted on and approved by the House of Representatives. It cannot be invalid. It is what will be recorded.

Obama did things that were both genuinely High Crimes and Misdemeanors and yet was not impeached for any of them; and so the answer is 'no'.

If the House case is presented in the Senate as sound, then the only partisan votes will be coming from Senate Republicans.

It seems very much like this, with the exception that trump* refused to testify or they could have had him for lying under oath as the third charge.

Are you telling me that the Senate is made up of "Republicans" and "Non-Partisans"? When were Democrats expelled? Pray tell!

Including bombing a US Citizen and his son abroad, and the trade of 5 terrorists for one deserter without informing Congress(there wasn't anywhere near the concern or diatribe as with the killing of the Iranian terrorist.)

It’s absolutely a joke, but not for the reasons you think. You have the right basically saying that they wont even call witness’ and that they are actually working directly with the White House. I’m sure you feel that justice is being served there right ? They refuse to let anyone testify, they are withholding all documents form all departments, but hey, just blame it all on the dems.

The only light is that Bolton is now saying he will testify. If the right just calls a vote in the senate without any real witness’, documents being entered, or even debate, then this country is doomed.

I’m just waiting for the Senate to start healing HILLAARRRYYYYYYYYY, all in unison.....this is a sham.

Because they are actual crimes and the first article is opinion and the second because the dems were to lazy to do their job.

Then they should have waited for the court to compel him to testify. Not the Senate's fault or job.

The House privately interviewed people and hand-picked their "very best-est", most witnessy witnesses for public television daytime drama.

Then they voted to impeach along strictly partisan lines. Not McConnell's fault.

Fine looking group of Washington DC water cooler gossips they chose though. Dems have 100 hours of video testimony and 100's of pages of documents on which to base their prosecution of the articles in front of the Senate.

Many of our leftists know that they are being hypocrites about this stuff, but they don't care since they now embrace a philosophy of The Political Ends Justify the Means. One wonders, however, when ethics became passe to so very much of the Dem Party's voters.

Very misleading title. A junior Senator from MO does not have the power to dismiss, and anything going to a vote in the Senate only gets there via Moscow Mitch.

Also, Red State is just what it sounds like: a far right wing rag with very few facts behind hit pieces like this.

If that's your source for information, you aren't getting anything that isn't far right propaganda.

Whatever you wish to think. I agree with the charges, but will accept the Senate vote. If he's not expelled from office on the present charges, I m sure there will be others.

They likely — rightfully — believed that the court would either not be impartial or that trump* would delay and delay until he was out of office or until he can get the results he likes (similar to how he is doing with every other suit)

Democrats promised they are continuing investigating Trump, so you are correct. "The Show" must go on, right? Beats working for a living.

The House waited months for Clinton witness subpoenas to be decided by the courts....and that was during his second term of office. The House at least pretended to be taking the process seriously with Clinton. Pelosi's impeachment looks like a quick-hit mafia-style strike by three demented members of the House. Just serving their base though, I guess. They sure aren't serving anyone else.

How does her candidacy become a conflict of interest? Please explain.

    As for congressional subpoenas:

Read the short sections on Subpoenas and Processes.

    Follow along. You said
This is obviously not true. Pelosi would send the articles over in a heartbeat, if there was a commitment to call key witnesses. The GOP won't make that commitment. It's obvious why: they don't want people to hear from these witnesses.

Rule of thumb: if someone wants to talk about something, and someone else doesn't want them to, it's because whatever they're going to say is going to be bad.

But all this is moot, since Trump seems to have gotten us in another war.

It's not a "show." Not a video game or an episode of The Apprentice, or a professional wrestling show. It is for real and due to his latest diversion a lot of our forces in the ME are now going into harm's way.

Probably not. I doubt their pollsters ever come this far north.

No she didn't. His name came up but nothing was ever really proven or expanded on. I wouldn't be surprised if he was caught up in it but he's actually intelligent and knows what he is doing.

Ethics suddenly matter to Democrats...now that the trial is about to open in the Senate. Isn't that a hoot!
