What did Democrats think this was going to be, no ability at all to explain what Biden was up to? This isn't CNN, its the Senate. What about The WhistleBlower whose name everybody knows but no one dare speak for fear of incurring the wrath of Piece of Schiffty?

McConnell sets stage for impeachment trial launch, warns 'both sides' could call witnesses
As he has before, McConnell said the Senate will deal with the question of potential witnesses "at the appropriate time."

He also said that "both sides will call witnesses they want to hear from.”

Republicans have the Majority Vote. So it's really simple:

"We'll subpoena Bolton, if you give us the Whistleblower, Bidens, etc." What's the Democrat's going to do? Fold? No. It's likely we're going to get most of the controversial witnesses on "both sides".

Can’t wait to see little Biden display his detailed knowledge of the Ukrainian energy industry.

Would Biden even appear without having to be dragged in by the US Marshals?

Normally, yes, but it appears we're determined for this farce. So let's enjoy the spectacle.

There's no way to cover this farce. That's what Pelosi doesn't understand: We'd LOVE to cover this farce. We'd just like to take the avenue that results in the least possible damage to the US Presidency(which has endured FIVE times classified information being released.).

And to be sure, there's the "cover" angle(just like the Russia conspiracy theory), so a dismissal even though it would be well within the rights of the Senate isn't the best way to shut up Pelosi. The best way is to subpoena Bolton, subpoena Mulvaney, etc, hear their information, vote accordingly and if there's an acquittal, even Pelosi will have to accept that.

Or she'd just do whatever damage she can left to the speaker position.

That is fine, what do you think they would prove relevant to the charges if Biden testified? That the kid wasn't qualified for the job? That he only got the job cause his father was VP? That some film taking out of context proves Biden had the prosecutor fired to protect the kid? What?

The Russians have already been caught breaking into Burisma, and Rudi is still plotting in the Ukraine, so I am sure Trump already has plenty to fabricate inneundos, but conspiracies aren't useful in Court proceedings, works on Hannity, but not when others get to ask questions

And in return, the Democrats get to ask questions of individuals under oath and on live TV who directly took part in Trump's intended scheme, I'm sure they would take that trade off while Trump would do his best to avoid it

Keep in mind, as Pelosi has, this isn't about an actual trial as is suppose to occur, Mitch already blew that, but rather a platform for exposure with public opinion being the real jury

Mitch recalibrated when he added Bat Boy (and a Roswell Alien) to his "Dream Witness List".

The Senate doesn't want to go down that road, and I can see the merit in not doing so. Pelosi's already coming up with conspiracy theories. No need to give her more. Just disprove this case on the merits, and send it back in Pelosi's face.

Put your hatred aside and think, remember in a trial it has to be guilt must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. All your side has come up with is 1 fact witness. Vindman. The only side it's going to be bad for is your side.

And when the Democrats aren't able to ta call any witnesses, they will have only themselves to blame.

    FALSE Equivalency.

Because even if Trump's Guilt was Proven "beyond a reasonable doubt" (1000x Over) they aren't going to get 20 Votes (for Conviction) in the GOP-led Senate.

    ^And, Everybody KNOWS That.
