She held the articles thinking she had some leverage over Mitch and he'd kowtow to her and let her set her rules. She has lost her marbles sadly. She had no leverage. Mitch laughed at the thought of giving his control to the Democrats a month ago.

Nance didn't wait or ask Mitch what he thought about the House impeachment rules. And she and her two henchmen came up with some real doozies unlike any in historical precedent.

Mitch had no obligation to pre-announce rules to anyone. They're his rules, like House rules were Nancy's. Today, the Senate's business is setting the rules based around Mitch's outline.

Life isn't "fair", is it? Just figuring that out?

Are they sworn to tell the truth? Could this be a perjury?

The general premise remained the same though.. Republicans held the majority in the Senate and they would dicate the rules. Those facts have been known since day 1, y'all started down this road knowing you'd have to overcome the Senate yet all the sudden democrats got collective amnesia

I think he should be called on the misrepresentation and cautioned not to repeat it by Roberts.

He knows the average leftist won't remember that, and even if they did-they would support the lie.

Weird, isn't it? Also, knowing that a simple majority in the Senate won't do. Nothing less than 67 votes. The process just became "serious and somber"....for the first time.

That's been apparent for a few days....the next excuse. I think it was the day they slow-walked the articles over to the Senate, they starting parroting their 3 new keywords into any microphone in front of them: "Witnesses" "Documents" and "Cover-up".

Listen to any Democrat in front of the press. If you were playing a drinking game, you'd be drunk in 60 seconds taking a shot anytime one of them says one of those three new propaganda words.

I think "cover up" is the winner of the three. They'll say it early and often for the next few weeks/months.

None of those assertions are accurate, but it's probably because they are getting some of that sweet Air Conditioning Lobbying Money.

The most recent ruling from Judge Jackson on the Don McGahn case says it does not exist.

Doesn't matter. If they had done their job the subpoena's would be in court now and decided soon but they didn't want to do their job. Now they want the same thing which begs the question, what was the hurry in the House.

They want all these documents now from the State Department and the White House that they will then have to go through and the Presidents defense will have to go through so they can see if they can find anything. And this is all information that if it is so important that should have been part of the impeachment so that the members of the HOUSE could decide if it should be included in the impeachment.

They should have continued pursuing the subpoena's in court. You're confident that Trump's arguments are either/or lawfully insufficient or logically inconsistent. Since you have this confidence, the House would eventually have been victorious. If the House had done so and let's say that this trial were held in say March, you might even get your impeachment/removal before the 2020 elections.

Why the dunce of a speaker chose december as an arbitary and false deadline, is up to her. It's her place in history.

Because that's the way this works. The Impeachment Team can present all of the evidence they collected in the House to the Senators. That is the trial of the evidence. That's it. They seem to have come up short.

They promised "conclusive evidence", but who knew they meant they didn't have enough yet, until today. I thought they were ready to move forward even if they didn't get the 'extra' documents and witnesses, but apparently they are even dumber than I thought they were. This is like showing up for a final exam after you partied all semester instead of studying, and then hoping someone would give you the answers to the test.

That bit of nonsense has been a talking point ever since the public first learned about Trump's effort to pressure Ukraine into announcing an investigation against his Joe Biden specifically.

And yet Joe Biden continues to be the frontrunner.

At the time that Trump first launched his pressure campaign, Trump's own internal polling said that he would lose the most against Biden.

Just to be clear, your argument is that a lawsuit solely against the release of those tapes is more complicated than multiple witnesses and all of their documents?

I suspect he means because the tapes were argued to be within Nixon's physical possession(So there were 4th and arguably 5th Amendment issues against self-incrimination.). By contrast, neither these witnesses nor their documents are Trump's property but at best the property of the United States Government.

I’m not watching but may I still comment?

Why watch if the results are known?

    and

I’d rather watch President Trump working overseas for the American people.
