This might come as a surprise, but unlike our politicians Vladimir Putin is trusted by all the nations in the Middle East. This doesn't mean that Iran and Turkey aren't resentful about him curbing their ambitions somewhat, but economic necessity leaves them with no choice.

Putin's Foreign Minister Lavrov is the world's foremost diplomat and has been quite adept at bringing warring factions together - especially in Syria.
