The fact is we HAVE a "socialist" government/economy in many respects and almost no one would want it to be different.

The only real question is how MUCH socialism is necessary to mitigate the excesses of capitalism

Answer: A lot less than we already have. Privatize Social security. Keep it out of the government coffers. Let citizens keep their own money and be responsible. Government is not responsible for irresponsibility on the part of it's citizens. There is incentive for those who want to "grow government" for more socialism. It's easier for them to "raid the ice box" with it.

 

Only reason the whole is there is because of the socialism and regulations already in place.

 

Capturing one fourth of the American economy in control by the government in the way of healthcare is a very good step toward Communism. It is all about government control. If Lois Lerner can use the IRS to persecute Conservatives....then future Politicians will use Healthcare as a means to control it;s citizens. You have to learn from history. We just had a previous attempt by an administration weaponizing IRS, CIA and FBI as well as the Dept of Justice, to bring down a sitting President. Check out the FISA warrants now under investigation. We don't need them "weaponizing" healthcare as well. Communism appeals to the Soros types that want to consolidate and obtain power.

Totally irrelevant...government has diferent healthcare goals then private insurance. They insure for profit.

The only reason we are even considering government managed health insurance, is that private insurance alone results in 40k deaths per year while millions are uninsured.....that included middle class workers who lost their jobs and would be literal, millions more if it weren’t for Medicare. Private insurance doesn’t want to insure sick people.
