Read the link. People with a lot more knowledge than you seem to think differently. Do you think you know more than the CDC?

...your argument is that the CDC makes money by informing the public about the Coronavirus?

Trump has already had his staff working around the clock to ensure COVID-19 doesn't hit Mar-A-Lago or any golf courses in that area...

His work is done... Everybody else is on their own...

yep, the left will pounce on anything to disparage trump...

he's downplaying the hype to build confidence, just as any sports coach would & has to get their team motivated... guessin the lefties think all those great sports figures are just lying "****** bafoons"...
if it weren't for twist, they'd have no vocabulary...

Your posts belie the last statement. The CDC very clearly is treating this virus as a serious threat. What don't you get?

That is their job. To treat everything seriously before it has a chance to become an epidemic. How many people die from the flu in the US? How about TB? How many people have died in the US from this? Remember a few years Swine Flu, SARS and few others. Same trend, it comes in hot and heavy and then dies out.

smh that's what you implied. I posted info from the CDC, you know, NOT the media. I even pointed it out to you.

I didn't implie anything. You seem to have misread it. Cool story, so prole have the ability to apply common sense and critical thinking. Just putting that out there.

Actually, I'm sure Trump is right, and the coronavirus is in fact "going to go away", as he said. Sooner or later, it will go away.

In the meantime, a couple of points:

Your link is to the CDC.gov ---- you realize that is a government entity? Someone working for/under/with the Trump administration?

Your link also includes tons of information about the coronavirus and our plans to combat it. So obviously we're already working on this.

Then there was this line: "Currently, COVID-19 is not recognized to be spreading in U.S. communities." Avoid China, Chinese travelers and repatriates, and you're already a step ahead in the game, because although "COVID-19 is a serious public health threat" the cdc article also points out that "Cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed in the United States, primarily in travelers from China and quarantined repatriates, and also in two close contacts of COVID-19 patients. Currently, COVID-19 is not recognized to be spreading in U.S. communities."

There are currently only 53 cases in the US and "the U.S. government and public health partners are implementing aggressive measures to slow and contain transmission of COVID-19 in the United States."

I don't want someone coughing Coronavirus germs on me, but I'm also not going to go into full blown panic yet. Until different (worse) information comes to light, I'm going to have faith in the CDC to do its job.

At the end of it all Trump will be right and I'm sure the Coronavirus will, in fact, "go away".

Yes. Look through the data it provides perspective. Look at the history of the mortality rate, dropping rapidly. Look at mortality rate by age and comorbidity. If you're over 70 in poor health......

The all of the global experts, including domestic, seem to be united in their warning of a possible pandemic. If that does come to fruition there would be social disruptions. Would you rather your leader level with the people so they might prepare or would you rather him blow smoke to "build confidence"?

EMTdaniel .China's cities are far more modern than we are, over 90% 0f all our drugs and medicines are manufactured in CHINA. Their infrastructure roads bridges highways public transportation all more modern and far better run than ours. They just built two very large hospitals to treat people with the virus in just a matter of days,it would have taken us years.

I never said anyone should go full blown panic. That said, trumps comments very clearly minimize the treat. Of course it will eventually go away. Duh...

    It will go away.

Every so often we hear from the fear mongers about the end of the world epidemic....it never amounts to much.

Don't be dumb. If they are keeping kids home from school there will be far worse problems to cope with.

How is it you know so much about it. Maybe you should tell the CDC what you know.

Possible, as in could be. Given the fact that as now, no one has died, leads to no epidemic and that Trump is right, is will go away.
Don't be dumb. If they are keeping kids home from school there will be far worse problems to cope with.
hmmmm the irony. schools are like mini petri dishies. If there are no kids, you can help to break the chain of infection.
