I call it social security and Medicare, it's Republican legislators that are trying to mask their malevolence.

 

Even if I got squished by a truck, my kids could get it. It kills me that the government gets a windfall when someone croaks.

 

Huh.....i pointed out that the R’s voted for a huge giveaway from medicare to big business, and all you want to do is remove the rights and benefits of the beneficiaries.

And for the record. I even pay the extra 1% on Medicare/Medicade and have for almost 11 years now. I PAID for medicare. Its amazing to watch righties all claim it some “giveaway of their tax dollars”, and then advocate for private insurance without admitting they are the very same thing.

What is even more interesting is that most of these programs are funded and removing the program would (should) eliminate the taxes attributable to them. The military is our largest unfunded expenditure by a significant margin.

 

Cut this but allow welare for the rich thru Repo Market where they add 60B a night free cash to the banks.

 

This Virus will make it all fall apart really quickly for the Republicans. Going to be a thrill watching them scramble and create alternative news as people are dying. How do WE blame Democrats for the VIRUS ?

A Cadillac Health plan where I work. I paid a $100 hospital admission fee and had a hip replacement, follow up appointment were free. Same with my cataracts I paid $0 for all of it. My monthly premium is $80. I walk 4 to 5 miles a day at work on a leg that was almost amputated in 1994 after being run over by a 28,000 lb armored truck at 55 mph on the highway.

Health care is available to the poor and folks with no insurance, you'll just have to stand in line to get it. I know, I went 7 years with no health insurance. I went to the County Health Center for regular stuff and the County Hospital if I needed anything else. Did I have to wait in line...yep. Did it suck...yep. But, I wasn't in a position for full time employment and company sponsored health care. Am I now...yep. I work hard for a Cadillac Health Plan at the age of 61 with disabilities. If I can still work after being run over by a 28,000 lb Armored Truck on the highway at 55 mph, for those that simply can't there is SSI Disability/Medicare. For those that won't, go wait in line at the County, you'll get care.

The problem with medicare is for people like myself who have already paid for the last 30 years into a program that they now want to cut. What gets lost is that people pay into these programs for YEARS without being able to use them, and then when its time to use them the r's want to cut it

 

And what does your company pay for that plan ?

You have a $100 "deductible" plan ? With no co-pays ? And you pay $80 a month for that plan at 61YO ?

You completely missed the point of the OP. You think that because you pay taxes, that other people who use Medicaid and medicare are using "your" money. All the while you use private insurance which uses other people money to cover YOUR expenses. Thats how insurance works my friend. You don't think your hip replacement only cost $80 did you ? Where did the rest of the money come from ? Insurance IS a socialist endeavor Just make sure you pay those other people back what you owe them then OK
