Russia is pissed that Diana wasn't accepted into a big-time music university in Moscow. I wonder if they're spamming this website.

I'd like to know the vote count, not just the percentages.

    1. Angelina Jordan
    2. Diana Ankudinova

If Russian spammers are focused on voting for best singer, good. Less time for them to waste at other places.

Sure, just not politics. Profanity and politics usually go together.

It was 84 here yesterday a bit windy which caused it to feel more like 74. Nice if you like windy days.

Yeah, I don't understand why Angelina isn't on that list somewhere. I would rank Lady Gaga higher, too (although I would subtract points for the stupid stage name). I've never heard Katy Perry, but I wouldn't have her on the list, at all; just on general principles.

Definitely Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera and Ariana Grande. But singers of this year? No.

To be honest, I'm not sure that I would put Diana on that list, at all. But I'm not good at rating such things. I would say that Elha is a better singer, too.

There is just something about Diana that goes beyond just singing. Yes, she's very good at it and has a unique voice. She also has a good ear. It's hard to find anywhere that she doesn't hit the note exactly. Beyond that, she has perfect control of the sounds she is making. She knows a lot of vocal tricks and can execute them without noticeable effort.

All of that is almost irrelevant. Her true, unique skill is her ability to make the audience feel the essence of a song. I think that she would be in the class of Marcel Marceau if she didn't sing at all.

Thirteen years old, I can't understand a word, makes me cry:

I'll give that a try then - here is my fav poem.

    http://www.donmarquis.org/themoth.htm

    the lesson of the moth

i was talking to a moth
    the other evening
he was trying to break into
    an electric light bulb
and fry himself on the wires

    why do you fellows
pull this stunt i asked him
    because it is the conventional
    thing for moths or why
if that had been an uncovered
    candle instead of an electric
    light bulb you would
now be a small unsightly cinder
    have you no sense

    plenty of it he answered
but at times we get tired
    of using it
we get bored with the routine
    and crave beauty
    and excitement
    fire is beautiful
and we know that if we get
too close it will kill us
    but what does that matter
it is better to be happy
    for a moment
and be burned up with beauty
than to live a long time
and be bored all the while
so we wad all our life up
    into one little roll
and then we shoot the roll
that is what life is for
it is better to be a part of beauty
for one instant and then cease to
    exist than to exist forever
and never be a part of beauty
    our attitude toward life
    is come easy go easy
    we are like human beings
used to be before they became
    too civilized to enjoy themselves

and before i could argue him
    out of his philosophy
    he went and immolated himself
    on a patent cigar lighter
i do not agree with him
    myself i would rather have
    half the happiness and twice
    the longevity

but at the same time i wish
    there was something i wanted
as badly as he wanted to fry himself

Right. It is challenging. I like it actually. Although there is something that I find immensely satisfying about F bombs. I dropped so many one time at the bar at Cheeseburgers

    https://www.yelp.com/biz/cheeseburgers-in-americas-paradise-christiansted

that a waitress lost it and unloaded on me - it was epic! Something like, "Jesus Christ, enough already! Could you possibly figure out a way to include F anymore times in a sentence? There are families with kids here that can hear you, so will you please knock it off!?"

My boss told me that he guessed I better try and stop with the F bombs....

While I am somewhat immune to curse words, having spent years around cable/fiber linemen, I don't use a lot of them. I find a good F-Bomb is more effective when rarely used and well placed in the conversation. And, always as an impersonal adjective to describe a situation or inanimate object.

It is Johnny Carson come back from the grave... He announced one time that there was going to be a shortage of TP, the shelves in the stores emptied in no time. People could not beg, borrow or buy TP.

Excellent advice Miss DaisyDoTell! Thank you most kindly and my apologies for being so rude with my filter infiltrating F bombs above, But hey, it is a Bar & Grill, eh?

I'll stop now with that F bomb business. Maybe a Mod will delete these two posts that slipped through and have someone fix the filter.
