It's a shame the first test developed by the CDC was flawed. New virus, new test. It was supposed to be a superior test with a lot fewer false negatives and false positives, but as happened, the glitch in step 3 of the test put us slightly behind the curve right out of the gate. Sounds like we'll catch up quickly now. We are Americans after all. United we stand.

 

Also, which part of "a little bit of fear" did you not comprehend? Who the heck is cowering? I'm just being realistic, and I'm listening to the actual experts. I recommend it highly.

 

It's the people who are going to flatten the curve of this thing by doing the simple little things that work.

I watch the news a lot. I watch every official press conference. I see no one panicking or cowering, not the government people and not the media. Where are you getting that notion? Other than the reporters all shouting at once, trying to get their questions in, no one is even raising their voice. So really, what cowering do you mean?

 

So, where is the map or report saying that? I don't doubt you at all, I doubt the federal government and all of its agencies.

Experts are not saying we should confine ourselves to quarters unless we are infected. They are saying avoid large gatherings. Hiding in your house is not recommended by anyone it is hysteria on display.

But, US handling of this pandemic has so far been a disaster of lack of preparedness, lies from the federal level on every topic, and a right wing news focus on declaring this disaseter as being a Democratic plot - thus assuring America that it's all fake news.

Trump was ahead of the curve in response to the virus. He and he alone among world leaders instituted a travel ban with China clear back in January.

 

It is under control as much as any virus can be.

 

Healthy people hiding in their houses afraid to fly,eat out, go to a movie or go to work are cowering in fear.

 

I do believe that is true, that the Johns Hopkins and Worldometer maps are reliable. The states are pretty much all filled in now, albeit it is just one case in ND presently.

Eventually all the counties in all the states will fill in with at least a few cases -- there could be some exceptions but I wouldn't bet on it. If the people keep doing the simple, small things that work we'll get through this by flattening the curve.

Unfortunately the government cannot snap its fingers and get an immediate immunization, which would really flatten the hell out of the curve with almost immediate results.

Anybody that wants it (the immunization) and wants it now is SOL.

Notice that this has NOTHING to do with organizing response within the US. It doesn't include talking to states. It doesn't include determining likely response needs inside the US. It doesn't include a plan on how the US would move to create vaccines, treatment or testing, do isolation. It doesn' have anything to do with knowing our law on what can be done to expidite provision of these goods (thus the administration was totally unaware that such even existed).

Helping other nations is a VERY different issue, because our relationship to other countries is a fundamental serious issue and our contributions are limited in ways that are different than would be the case for the USA.


Look. Trump fired our team that was focused on the issues of pandemic response in AMERICA.

So, when we hear in WA started seeing cases, there wasn't even anyone in the administration to TALK to who could actually do anything.

AND, it resulted in 2 months delay in expediting provision of material needed for treatment and protection as well as vaccines and medical solutions. It also means that there has been highly uneven understanding of what best practices means - so we had people doing decontamination work on hotels, airplanes etc., without even face masks.

We didn't even have a plan for how to protect our top federal executives - so we had Trump tellig us what to do and stating that he would NOT do it!!!

You keep trying to find excuses. You need to focus on what we know was needed. Then, you can notice what didn't exist, and why.

 

That's not the reason there is social separation going on and by now you know it.

Staying six feet apart is not staying home but I’m not even doing that.

 

Yet we have lower infection rates than most European countries. Guess trump did something right huh.

 

"Catching up" should include having major right wing news outlets noting that they were wrong, it's not plot by Democrats against the presidents election campaing, and that people really need to follow recommendations - at least by CDC and respected doctors.

For example, they need to fix the Rushbo problem.

 

Actions taken so far have mostly taken place because of Governors showing leadership in their states.

Trump has NOT helped In fact, he's continuing to prevent us from getting clear, factual information from experts.

Glad you finally at least acknowledge the team exist. Yes it exist to work outside the US to stop pandemics (you know wsbt a pandemic is right?) the team was created as a direct result of Obama and Biden’s failure to deal with swine flu and Ebola.


The CDC itself works within the United States.
