You need to let go of labels, D. Why would an otherwise intelligent person ask why ANYBODY would vote for Reagan? For real? because he saved us from the disaster created by the, then, worst President in our history. Nice man (Carter). Disastrous President! Oh... and because President Reagan is the very BEST President in my lifetime.

What specifically did Reagan do that you agree with?

Is this a hard question for you to answer: "What specifically did Reagan do that you agree with?"

I see. You liked everything Reagan did - that's why you voted for Obama - twice. ;-)

You hit a nerve with me Ddddd. So I'll entertain your request. Briefly.
    President Ronald Reagan:
    > Immediately got our hostages freed
    > Returned pride and dignity to the USA
    > Beefed up our military (I was a DoD Top Secret Software Developer - Carter had cut off our air conditioning in the hottest D.C. summer ever, charged us for office parking, and cut the hot water in the restrooms)
    > Got Russia eating out of his hand (unlike our current President where it's the other way around)
    > Got interest rates back within reason (Carter had them at 18% and no one could afford a mortgage)
... I'm just getting started. 'Kay, meme?

Yup! Voted for Obama once because Palin is such an arse and McCain was deranged (may God bless his patriotic soul).
Voted a second time because, though I think Romney is the superior human, I didn't want to see him get smeared by the public which would truly smear him... kinda sorry I didn't campaign for Romney in retrospect... when Martha Raditz asked Romney in a debate with Obama how to solve gun violence in Chicago, Romney replied something to the effect of, "Strengthen the family unit..." Raditz said something like, "You don't understand the question." And she repeated it. Romney is a good and wise man. Wish we were on his second term rather than Trump's first.

I was a big Trump supporter when he was on O'Reilly prior to announcing his candidacy. Even got a personal Christmas card from him in 2016. Seriously. But when he flip-flopped on his promises to: raise the Prime Rate and taxes on the wealthy (that is indeed what he had promised on O'Reilly) and then went apes4*t at Meagan Kelly (after she, Bret Baire, and Chris Wallace crapped all over him in the first Republican debates) I realized there was something seriously off with him. Hillary, a most nauseating choice, is better than that. And I don't regret backing her either--- given the same choice I would most assuredly do that again.

Well, Romney and McCain were especially repulsive examples of the Republican establishment, but what did Palin do to upset you - shoot her family's dinner?

Why would an Obama voter have problem with Trump slamming a few Fox News talking heads?

Not a big fan of shooting wolves, moose, or whatever from a helicopter. And she is lacking class, not up with international affairs, constantly saying really stupid things like, "I'm familiar with Putin... when he rears his head to travel who do you think he flies over? Alaska that's who!" And then quit her job as Governor opting for appearances on really lame stuff like, "Dancing with the Stars." When I was officially part of Trump's early campaign volunteers I offered my services conditionally so long as he promised NOT to give Palin a cabinet seat.

Trump's crazy up-til-2AM rants at Meagan Kelly for repeated nights - like 7 days - is just nuts! Trump's flip-flop on Prime rates and taxing the wealthy, and then sucking up to the Jerry Falwell gang at Liberty College in Lynchburg - effectively changing his entire approach for women's rights.... He LOST me! Oh, and it was a 2015 Christmas card from Trump which I received from Trump Tower - not 2016 as I said earlier. I had long quit supporting him by mid-2016. Trump WAS a New York liberal y'know.

Do you have source for Sarah Palin ""Dancing with the Stars"" or shooting anything from a helicopter? That would be interesting - if true.

Trump exposed their baiting questions and the attempted snarky way they were presented. They should lay their snarky bitterness aside and unite with the rest of the country. Even Mayor DeBlazio does that. Better get used to a President that doesn't suck his thumb when the media goes after him......you're gonna have four more years of more hate and misery if you can't adjust. The vaccine for TDS has not been approved yet.

It clearly incenses you that I, or anyone apparently, can vote for Obama AND Reagan while holding many conservative views. You labeled me. Chastised me. And I patiently explained my views for you with no attacks on you at all, "ad hominem," or otherwise. I honestly was reaching out to you so you could come to understand that there are people, like me, with a lot of varying experiences ad views who will never fit nicely into your given compartmentalized labels. For that you hurl false accusations at me. So much for me taking the time to politely satisfy your interrogations. Won't happen again!

How dare I tease you or suggest the next election not going your way may trouble you? Right? You actually take that suggestion as an attack on you personally??? Good Gawd!!! You sure dish it out but... oye vais!

Inasmuch as all you seem to get is offended by my painstakingly putting a lot of time into preparing thoughtful responses for you, here goes one more time.
    And then I'm done.

Be well, DD. Stay safe. And may God bless you and your loved ones.

    Alexander was completely correct.

And, Trump (once again) proved that he is a Disgrace to the Office with his petty immature sniping.

Also, the person behind the YouTube account who posted this video in the OP (James Hoft) is an Extreme RW Troll who has made a career out of making Mischaracterized Vids to trash Liberals.

The headline is complete Mischaracterized BS.
    (Alexander is NOT a Fearmonger).

Here is the CORRECT Version of the Story in the OP:

Ad hominem personal attacks violate forum rules. Other than the personal attacks your posts have been fine. Again, read the rules. It is easy to avoid violating them.

Trump's opposition is beginning to understand why they will be blamed right along with the CCP for the harm being done by the Chinese Coronavirus Pandemic. It's driving them nuts.

"Then there are other variables that he and his allies hope will fall in their favor: that the outbreak of the virus will slow and, in the warmer months, dissipate; that the states will get it under control; that the federal government’s steps taken so far will flatten the curve; that ***Mr. Biden and the Democrats will look impotent and inconsequential*** by comparison; and that enough voters will move past his initial efforts to play down the virus’s dangers.

The great unknown, of course — and the tremendous risk to Mr. Trump’s political fate, no matter what he says or does — is that the human cost, the economic toll, and the longevity and course of the pandemic are all X factors that will most likely play out for months and could be strongly salient if not severe by the time of the November general election."

The bolded is, of course, bullshit. It is a false choice to say that he had to choose between saying things like, "we stopped it completely" and saying that "the sky is falling."

There were plenty of experts who warned very early on about the potential risks posed by this virus. But if you want your president to not mention those risks and yo focus on presenting strength and calm, that's fine. Say things like, "We are monitoring the situation closely and we are prepared to take any steps necessary to protect American lives."

But to lie and horribly misrepresent the threat posed by the virus is absolutely the wrong decision.

    "Mission Accomplished"

No one said trump's partial travel restriction against the hotspot of China was racist except for China.
