Trump called this a democratic hoax. He got it all wrong. It's just a total embarrassment.
But I guess the US gets a president that they "deserve", spreading fake news all the time.

Even Facebook did a fact check and your accusation is a "hoax in itself". The hoax is what is perpetuated by the media.....not the facts related to the Chinese virus itself!

 

How about we look at the question in the context of the previous three minutes of questions all designed to make Trump look bad. The press are the enemy of facts, and truth these days. Giving folks a pep talk from the lecturn doesn't seems to satisfy reporters these days who's only approach then seems to be lynching the president. They are unrelenting jackals who deserve the derision they get.

I am offended by being repeatedly dismissed merely as, "an Obama voter." But I put on my big kid boots and walk right over it. I don't think anyone should be insulted for being asked to figure something out on their own like how an, "Obama voter," could love Reagan. I see how it can be a thought provoking exercise. But it was truly not meant as an insult. If anything offbeat it was an expression of weariness and exasperation from repeated taunts of the, "That is NOT enough!" variety.

So consider the effect of repeatedly taunting:
an, "Obama voter," can't do this; an, "Obama voter," can't do that; explain yourself, "Obama voter;" no wonder, "You are an Obama voter;" give MORE details, "Obama voter." And when provided with well thought out, considerate, details, simply ignoring them and repeating the taunt. So please consider that I am taunted and baited by being repeatedly dismissed merely as, "an Obama voter," followed by repeated demands for further and further explanation. And, again, I put on my big kid boots and walk right over it (even the new, unfounded, "Rule Breaker," taunts).

Oh, stop. "Lying"? At worst, he was wrong. It happens when you have the weight of the world on your shoulders. And even when you don't.

Here, for the objective and fair among us, is the "under control" comment, in context. Note the numerous qualifiers:

Jan. 30: “We think we have it very well under control. We have very little problem in this country at this moment — five. And those people are all recuperating successfully. But we’re working very closely with China and other countries, and we think it’s going to have a very good ending for it. So that I can assure you.”
Feb. 2: “Well, we pretty much shut it down coming in from China. … We can’t have thousands of people coming in who may have this problem, the coronavirus. So we’re gonna see what happens, but we did shut it down, yes.”
Feb. 7: “Nothing is easy, but [Chinese President Xi Jinping] … will be successful, especially as the weather starts to warm & the virus hopefully becomes weaker, and then gone.”

Just had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China. He is strong, sharp and powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus. He feels they are doing very well, even building hospitals in a matter of only days. Nothing is easy, but...


And then the overarching problem for you is Trump's immediate closure of the border to air traffic from China, which was certain to cause economic/trade problems. Of course, you always have the "Racism!" card to play regarding that closure. (Now is as good a time as any.)

 

I am just going to point out the very first example and switch up the bolding so that you can spot the lie a bit easier.

At the point where he made that statement, there were - objectively - dozens of cases of people sick with the virus in the US. He wanted to try and claim single digits because, in his mind, somehow, the cases of Americans who got sick while aboard a cruise ship did not count.

But let's not stop there.

On February 27th, he said, "We are going very substantially down, not up."

The day before was the first confirmed case of community spread. In other words, an infection that happened through unknown and untraceable origins. It is objectively false and a it is objectively a lie to knowingly claim that the numbers are going down after the first such case gets confirmed.

 

Problem is the travel ban wasn’t a ban, they didn’t shut down the air travel from China. It’s another Trump fiction.

In the context of the previous three minutes? Trump was asked about the complaint that he is overly optimistic given all the bad news. Trump responded.

He was then asked what he would tell to the millions of Americans who are scared right now and he responded like a little chicken **** by attacking the reporter and saying "We will see."

It was a softball question and any rational president should have been able to handle the response in a calm manner that instilled confidence. Trump failed.

 

So far you have been unable to paste up a quote from Trump calling the Chinese Coronavirus Pandemic a "Democratic hoax".

It's just like that miracle Trump mentioned, that the virus would vanish.

Is the media not praying hard enough to make that miracle happen?
