They weren’t independent, the head was picked by the president. Her name happened to be Warren and she helped kill the small town bank and strength the big banks.

Yes it is because I have never said business should not be allowed to apply for loans.
Those loans should be regulated by an independent non-partisan panel and not just friends of the administration

"The bill proposed by Pelosi, D-Calif., additionally seeks to eliminate debt held by the U.S. Postal Service, require same-day voter registration, pay off $10,000 in student debt per person, mandate that airlines reduce their overall emissions by 50 percent by 2050, and force federal agencies to explain to Congress how they are increasing their usage of "minority banks."

No time for this now....it's not needed by either side.

It was an independent panel. But by your own remarks you understand the danger of not having tight regulations around this money yet you want to just had it off to the Treasury department with no requirements and say please don't screw us — and then allow them to hide it for six months?

The head of TARP was picked by the President. All you are doing is slowing down the people from getting relief. We are dealing with businesses across the spectrum of goods and services. Not just the banking industry.

Small businesses employ almost 50% of the nation's work force and 64% of new jobs.

Corporations employ a much smaller per cent of the work force and for the most part have reserves that few small businesses have

This has moved on from even being partially a discussion to outright a game of stawman fallacies from you.
    I am not playing.
    Take care.

Tight regulations? How long do you think small business has to survive? Large business to keep paying their people?

This is a "now" thing, not a "let's be thorough and take out time" thing.

The economy and people lives hang in the balance. Slow is not going to work.

Because they don't care about working class Americans and the businesses which hire them.

Unless it involves enriching themselves then they move at lightning pace.
When it comes to what is good for the nation you are indeed correct.

Tell that to the employees of large companies who will get laid off and not paid. :(

Large business is not the enemy.

Your targeted the big companies but the little guy is who is getting hurt. Who will do without the execs at Delta or the working stiffs at Delta?

Wait...so your lame excuse is that these businesses are flush with cash but need tax cuts?

    How does that make sense?

Throwing out money with almost zero restrictions isn’t the answer either. Half a trillion is a lot of money. My businesses can survive for 90 days with near zero cash flow and financial experts say 90 to 120 is the minimum to keep on hand — that is the issue with massive business debt — economists said this would likely be the next bubble, we may be in it. Not being able to survive for 30 days is endemic of a larger issue.

YOU tell it to the small businesses that will not only lay off MORE workers...but close their doors and many will never reopen.

Which is why the workers need to be prioritized; loans, rents and utilities need to be frozen.

What’s the straw man? FYI TARP was actually not run by an independent agency but by an office within the Dept Of Tres,a new one, called the Office of Fin Stability.

Oh, the ship is going down, and there's a good chance we ain't making it to shore for a very, very, very, very long long long time. Not in my lifetime, anyways.

You can't crash the motor of the world and think things will go back to yesterday. They won't. The country, the culture, the politics have changed forever. The world has just proclaimed this as an official moral absolute: The needs of the community outweigh the rights of the individual...and they are going to push it for every microscopic and macroscopic particle of power they can suck out of it.

A free-market healthcare system would have had the beds, the masks, the tests, the treatments, and the knowledge and skill to defeat this puny virus. What you see is what the government gave birth too, an economic Armageddon.

Not a Republican, it is was Romney, Paul or hundreds of other Republicans I would still not like the unrestricted access but would be more tolerant of it. Instead we have a man that misused charity funds and had to pay massive fines, defrauded students and had to pay massive fines, had several organizations shuttered for fraud and has been sued hundreds of times trying to defraud investors and contractors — notice a trend — definitely not someone that should be trusted.

So the guy that bear your girl in2016 and the guy that was elected in total rejection of the Obama era govt. it’s still politics. By the way, the President wouldn’t be looking at every loan application...so nobody believes you, and frankly is sick of the dems playing politics and holding the nation hostage
