I live in NY too. Crime is not spiking because everyone is at home.

Only Trumpsters want you to believe things are going badly.

BTW, the Post is a right wing rag with illiterate reporters. Almost as bad as FauX.

Strange that none of the Trumpsters are talking about how Dirty Donnie ignored this pandemic until it was far too late to do anything about it and then lied about what he said. Oh well, once again the Republicans destroy our economy and the Democrats will have to pick up the pieces. Like deja vou all over again.

Just wait until NYC takes the approach of Philadelphia and California by not prosecuting "petty" property crimes like theft, vandalism, etc.

    NYC will become dystopian overnight.

    From your article:

Cops in New York City operate between a rock and a hard place. Under pressure to meet “performance goals“ ... while simultaneously tasked by their bosses and City Hall to keep crime stats low...

..cops rig stats by downgrading crimes and ignore other criminal complaints altogether.

So let me understand this, you believe that crime rates are lower because your own sources are telling you that cops are artificially deflating the crime stats?!

    Howz that work?!

A context so complicated you can't explain it?

That’s ok, it hasn’t and it won’t. And it will keep delivering Democratic electoral votes for generations to come.

Of course all statistics must be taken with a grain of salt. Statistics about crime are problaby worth a shaker full. On the one hand, the police want to look good -- "See, we're winning ... crime is down." On the other, sometimes it's in their interests to emphasize crime ... say, when it comes time to vote on the budget to be allocated to them.

America has an additional problem ... the race issue. It makes rational discussion of crime, and how to react to it, impossible.

Conservatives would love it if the crime rate of illegal Hispanic immigrants was high ... but it's actually not. [ https://openborders.info/hispanic-crime-and-illegal-immigration-in-the-united-states/ ]

The very high Black crime rate is a source of permanent embarrassment to the Left .. who absolutely cannot deal with the ugly reality. It's always amusing to watch their rationalizations and diversions when they are forced to confront this issue.

Speaking of which --- trigger warning, Lefties stop reading NOW -- here are some interesting links.

You mean like large corporations wanting a $500 billion bailout ? Private profits, public losses.

You're right. It’s better those companies go under and we hit 50% unemployment ... and we have no airline industry, etc.

    Then we’ll be better off.
