Given conservative belifs and political values that involves limited federal govt one can expect such people to be against a big central govt and to react slower . So an emergency get slower reactions.

But they still reacted fast for a huge govt and faster than the CCP. And there was false info coming from WHO.

It's only going to get a lot worse before it gets better and it might be 2 to 18 months before it gets better and that could be the truth and It might be a very long time before the peak comes and that might be the truth. If you think the COVID-19 pandemic is real bad now, Just wait next month when it gets even worse and gets out of control and then what? What happens next. Will we all die from this? What will be the percentage be for survivors? Only time will tell.

 

The highest reliable mortality rates seem to be in the 5% range. This is for known infections. Italy is seeing something just over 10% but they have a large elderly population.

 

And Italy is so overwhelmed that they are taking away ventilators and supplies for people over 65 to give them to younger patients more likely to survive and need less time in order to put onto other patients.

Which is the fate for Americans starting already because Trump waited a month to even acknowledge there was a pandemic, and doesn't allocate supplies, and put our supposedly magnificent companies to make supplies - which means they will buy them in China for 5 times the price!

 

Right now we are following in Italy's path with the number of dead equal to the number of recovered. Hopefully that ratio improves as more people have time to recover. The ratio in Italy has just started to improve a bit.

This is likely partly an artifact of limited testing. If you only test the most serious patients early on, then the ratio of deaths to the known infection rate is going to be skewed. It is really more representative of the ratio of the deaths/recoveries for the very ill, and not just those infected. But Italy is weeks ahead of us. One would think they have sufficient testing now.

 

Trump predicted we'd be back on April 12. Now he says April 30th. It will probably be the middle of June of July at the earliest is my prediction here.

 

Trump just called for the isolation measures to continue through April 30th. It seems that they finally got it through his head that this is serious. He admits that we might see 100,000 dead. He nearly choked on it but he said it. And from what I've seen, we will be very lucky if that is all. We could easily see a million dead.

 

As of today, Arkansas is on a downward trend 3 (or 4?) days in a row in new cases, 17 today . Also, Louisiana, California, and New York's new cases and new deaths are also DOWN. Media won't report this, but it's good news. Italy also down in new cases and deaths. We'll take any positive news.
