Yep already address this and admitted I am shocked. I am allowed to have an opinion though and be happily surprised to be wrong. But this all happened months ago. So there’s that.

Zimmerman didn't have his gun brandished when Treyvon started attacking. It was only after Treyvon was bashing his head into the concreate did the gun come out. And Zimmerman was over charged, he would have been convicted of homicide, but not murder.

 

A question was asked, an answer is provided. Why should it be believed that the individual in question would not have attacked law enforcement officers?

So then there should be even more for a call for a trial and due process being as its a Republican strong hold. Its not like they claim one set of standards for democrats and turn around and ignore those standards if a republican did the exact same thing **cough*KavenaughvsBiden*cough***. All the acquittals and non-investigations and riots have happened in very liberal and democrat areas, this is the first racially charged scenario in a republican district.

If I was in black neighborhood and two black men pulled up and aimed a gun at me.... the very last thing I would do would be to attack them (that is OBVIOUSLY suicidal to any semi-rational human). I would go straight to begging for my life or throwing my wallet on the ground and running.

 

No, this was not a deliberate and premeditated act, they did not set out to harm this poor guy. Not murder.

If they did, the guy in the back of the truck had every opportunity to blast him when he grabbed the barrel of the shotgun.

In fact, had he been looking to murder this dude, that action there was the green light to fire away.

But he didn't.

It was only after the dude started throwing punches that guns started going off.

Because again, his instinct was to automatically start a fist fight, unlike most people.

I get it, different strokes for different folks. Fight or flight. Ahmuad tried the flight before, he didn't feel like that would work again so he fought. If he thought he was going to die regardless, why not go out fighting?

I get that, but seriously, Ben really does a good job explaining why this was murder and probably why the grand jury charged them with murder.

 

I have joined around page 30 or so, but I have been trying to quell that type of rhetoric because if people focus on just this incident, they will have a much bigger outspoken support base from people who are typically weary of accusations of racism. It happens, I actually believe this was an act of racial profiling and bigotry. If those on this thread go off saying "this always happen in America/the south, because white people are racist", then I wont be outspoken supporting them. I will be a silent majority. Superbadbrother has done it some since I started, but not on every post, which is good.
