Do you believe Trump when he says he's taking hydroxychloroquine?

The drug has been used for decades. Depending on the dose is has less side effects than many drugs we routinely take.
"NEW YORK/LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The decades-old drug that President Donald Trump has persistently promoted as a potential weapon against COVID-19 has within a matter of weeks become a standard of care in areas of the United States hit hard by the pandemic — though doctors prescribing it have no idea whether it works."

In addition, it is routinely given to servicemen heading to malaria areas.

No they will not. The drug us a prescription drug that has been use for 65 flipping years. You can only take it under a doctor's doctor's supervision. It appears to be useful in the early stages but not when you're already at deaths door. The doctors yelling about this are mostly those who have a vested interest in newer more expensive. On the contrary clroquine us old it's cheap and there are plenty of generics it's been successfully used for the treatment if lupus and other immune diseases.

I have no idea whether he is being honest or not. He lies all of the time, even about trivial issues. The real question is, if he is "taking" it, is his doctor giving him the real thing or a placebo to placate him?

I'd like you to expound on this. Like most Trump haters, you're just making stuff up. At what date do Presidents of the United States take the HIPAA oath?

and testing seems to show it's not effective against the virus, no testing has been done to see if it is a preventative... and Trump is in the at risk group for side effects

but I do not believe he is taking anyway, and he won't release his medical records, so point is mute anyways

that seems petty, many things to he does wrong, his socks would be the least of my concerns - seems the right would be more upset about his cankles based on the way they treated Hillary

He is under constant care by doctors. If you read the side effects, you will see there are warnings. If you have specific reactions, you should stop taking it and see your doctor. There is also a matter of dosage. Trump is taking 200mg pills which is fairly mild. This is no different than nine other prescriptions I take on a regular basis and a couple of others I take on occasion.

A large number of hospital workers are taking it for the same reason as Trump. There is some evidence that if taken early enough, it might lessen the severity.

You should stop listening to Dr. Pelosi and all the other "doctors" in the mass media.

This stuff is just too easy.

"The FDA is aware of reports of serious heart rhythm problems in patients with COVID-19 treated with hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine, often in combination with azithromycin and other QT prolonging medicines. We are also aware of increased use of these medicines through outpatient prescriptions. Therefore, we would like to remind health care professionals and patients of the known risks associated with both hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine. We will continue to investigate risks associated with the use of hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine for COVID-19 and communicate publicly when we have more information

Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine have not been shown to be safe and effective for treating or preventing COVID-19. They are being studied in clinical trials for COVID-19, and we authorized their temporary use during the COVID-19 pandemic for treatment of the virus in hospitalized patients when clinical trials are not available, or participation is not feasible, through an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). The medicines being used under the hydroxychloroquine/chloroquine EUA are supplied from the Strategic National Stockpile, the national repository of critical medical supplies to be used during public health emergencies. This safety communication reminds physicians and the public of risk information set out in the hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine healthcare provider fact sheets that were required by the EUA.

Hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine can cause abnormal heart rhythms such as QT interval prolongation and a dangerously rapid heart rate called ventricular tachycardia. These risks may increase when these medicines are combined with other medicines known to prolong the QT interval, including the antibiotic azithromycin, which is also being used in some COVID-19 patients without FDA approval for this condition. Patients who also have other health issues such as heart and kidney disease are likely to be at increased risk of these heart problems when receiving these medicines.

Uh yeah what I said. 80 year old dudes at deaths door died regardless of being treated with hydroxycloriquine. What part of under a doctor's supervision did you miss the first time.

All medicines have side effects. The positives have to be weighed against the negatives. Hydroxychloroquine has been used safely for decades. Many hospital workers are taking it for the same reason as Trump. Our military gives Hydroxychloroquine before going into malaria areas.

Generally, Hydroxychloroquine only treats side effects. It turns out that some of the side effects of malaria and lupus have the same side effects as Covid-19.

Read up on Hydroxychloroquine 200mg. It discusses side effects. It has warnings that if you see certain side effects, stop taking it and see your doctor. In higher dosage levels, it is very dangerous. I have the same type of warnings on nine prescriptions I take on a regular basis and a couple of others I take periodically.

So killing older people is OK?

    My grandfather died at 97
    My grandmother died at 94

Why not say what you mean.
Round up everyone over 80 line the up in front of a trench and open fire.
    Reduce the medicare load.
    Reduce the social security load
    Reduce the medicaid load

So is November 1 a good day to execute your plan?

    And? AND?

This medicine has NOT been shown to be effective in treating this illness AND it can cause serious complications.

Again they were already dying, and you still seem to be missing that part about under a doctor's supervision.

yep, most workers don't have that kinda medical care, most of them are not around employees tested daily like Trump to give them that extra reassurance

Trump says nothing to fear, yet all his staff have to be tested daily, and he is taking a drug without even knowing if it works he is so afraid of the virus

Trump is not easing peoples fears any

My grandfather was dying 17 years before he died?
Of course you don't understand how stupid that is but, let's take your argument to its natural conclusion.
We're all dying from the moment we're born.
So let's just take a few hundred thousand people line them up next to a trench and open fire.
I'm sure that's an attractive option to the Trumpinistas.
