The coronavirus pandemic continues its deadly march through rural counties and small towns across the country, led by flareups in Southern and Midwestern states that are becoming new epicenters of the outbreak.
Almost 80 percent of Americans now live in counties where the virus is spreading widely, according to an analysis by the Brookings Institution demographer William Frey.
In the last week, 176 counties have started to see substantial spread of the virus. The vast majority of those, 159, are smaller exurban or rural counties. The increased transmission in those areas shows the virus's spread outward from its initial hubs in major cities like New York, Detroit, San Francisco, Seattle and New Orleans and into neighboring regions.

But the virus is also beginning to attack some cities that avoided an initial wave, a troubling reminder that it could still infect millions of Americans who have so far been safe.

Highly populated areas like Tampa and St. Petersburg, Fla., are now reporting dozens of new cases. Collin County, Texas, in the Dallas metroplex, and Wake County, N.C., are also showing signs of broader spread.

So are smaller, more rural communities like Yell County, Ark., and exurban areas outside of major cities like Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Columbus, Ohio.

"The U.S. is very large and diverse in terms of population density and movement. This is partially why we are seeing different experiences across the country," said Amira Roess, an epidemiologist at George Mason University's College of Health and Human Services. "In general, we are continuing to see outbreaks in less urban areas in the U.S."

President Trump said Thursday the United States would not shut down in the case of a second coronavirus wave.

"People say that's a very distinct possibility. It's standard. And we're going to put out the fires. We're not going to close the country. We're going to put out the fires," Trump told reporters during a tour of a Ford manufacturing plant in Ypsilanti, Mich., when asked if he was concerned about a second wave of COVID-19.

Trump expressed confidence in the country's ability to contain future outbreaks, referring to them as "embers."

"Whether it's an ember or a flame, we're going to put it out. But we're not closing our country," the president continued.

All 50 states have announced plans to begin loosening restrictions meant to curb the spread of the coronavirus, opening their economies at varying speeds so that Americans can begin to return to normal life.

States like Texas, North Carolina and Arizona have reported rising numbers of coronavirus cases as they've embarked on reopening plans.

A huge new study found that giving sick Covid patients hydroxychloroquine increases their chance of death.

As I understand it, to be published in Lancet and the largest study to date, it considered something like 600+ hospitals in numerous countries. No link found yet. The news just broke.

    In an effort to prove a point, Trump and his parrots will demand the following mass testing trial;

    a. Mandate all unaffected citizens to swallow the miracle hydroxychloroquine tablet, 400mg daily over a two week period, and then,

    b. Expose them to Covid19.

    Way to go Teddy!

Why do I have to stay home just because you are scared? How about you stay home... you stay in your house indefinitely, you wear a mask, you socially distance yourself from me, you avoid restaurants, you avoid baseball games, you stay off the roads, you avoid malls and beaches and parks, you believe the made up death numbers, you believe the media hype, you get your toxic vaccine while avoiding vitamin C, sunshine and the things God gave us to actually heal.

I'm done playing your dumb game. We are not "all in this together." I'm not wearing your dumb tin foil hat anymore. I'm no longer going to be a prisoner of your fear. I'm no longer staying in my house or catering to you because you are scared. I'm not wearing a mask and I'm not staying 6 feet away from you anymore because I'm not afraid of you. You are not my enemy and if I get sick, it's not because of you, it's because of me and my system, which not only have I been addressing for quite some time, but I also know how to treat if I get sick.

This virus (or whatever it is) is already circulating. Millions of people have already encountered it, as it's been circulating around the world probably since last September. You WILL have to confront this thing, if you haven't already. There is no way around it, unless you lock yourself up in your house and it somehow doesn't manage to hop on some mail or some groceries that you ordered online. Your fear is not an excuse to destroy America. Your fear is not my fear and your fear does not have the right to interfere with my life, my job, my income or my future as a free American citizen. So if you're scared, you can just put your tin foil hat on, or even wrap foil all around your whole body - or around your whole house if you wish - but please keep your fear contained to your little corner of the world and don't contaminate me or my family or my Country.

    Sometimes I wonder which of the following groups is the sickest;

    a. Those who have been on a ventilator for more than 30 days, or

    b. Trump and his parrots

Whether it works as a cure or not, it isn't a vaccine so why is Trump taking it every day?
There is zero evidence that it can prevent you from catching the virus.

    Did anyone claim it would?
Seems to me the claim is it mitigates the effect of the virus, once caught.

According to AFM, hydroxychloroquine PREVENTS hospitalization for Covid19.

In other words, when taken BEFORE you get infected, hydroxychloroquine WILL SIGNIFICANTLY reduce the severity of Covid19- associated symptoms, and PREVENT hospitalizations.

In other words; We don't need a vaccine.

Question; Where's the credible evidence of said claim?

    Answer; It was published.

Isn't this inviting avid anti-Trumpers to go and infect these rallies?

A lot of the "blue areas" have poor(er) people in them. In the 2016 election, the median income of people voting for the Orange Oaf was $10,000 higher than people voting for Useless Hillary.

We'll see what the numbers look like in a couple of weeks now that Red states are seeing more of the increase in COVID-19 cases.
Those bad poor people riding the bus to their job of dealing face-to-face with the public. They should be the better class of folks who work from home.

What excuses are you making for President Dumbass...

... not using the Defense Production Act to get PPE made in quantities that will provide frontline workers with n100 masks with HEPA filters?

How about the rest of us, too? Why isn't the Idiot-in-Chief looking after the people who voted for his useless hide?

Well it turns out you are 33-45% more likely to die if you take it once sick. And this is based on a very large study.

Trump supporters should be aghast Trump is taking chances of getting COVID-19. He's an overweight 75-year-old with heart disease. Boris Johnson, twenty years younger, told us he nearly died in the ICU. If both Trump and Pence got COVID-19 at the same time, we'd have President Pelosi while they were recovering. And if they both die...

There would be those that would believe that reopening may be a mistake in many areas when the Coronavirus is rising again and it would be like March 2020 all over again but only worse.
