Problem is they did know. The two officers had just frisked the many. They knew he was unarmed. They knew the Taser had been discharged.

He fired and missed. That makes him not a threat with the Taser.

"Fired", not "Firing". There isn't much that is plural about a Taser .A Taser does not have a magazine with numerous shots in it. Most models hold a single cartridge that launches two barbs up to 15 feet away. Some models have two shots. He missed so he was either unarmed at that point or facing two officers with not more than one shot left. In other words, completely incapable of harming either officer.

The coroner report is out stating he was killed by two gun shots in his back. So now we have a drunken idiot running from two police officers, unarmed, shot in the back.

Well, I was in EMS on FD and Rescue for twenty years. Worked with police of all sorts of agencies. Saw real heroism a few times, people I greatly admire. Met some total *******s too.

I know both types exist from long experience. So I judge these news reports on what facts can be gleaned. If more info comes out later I remain open to changing my view.

Show me a police officer or common citizen who saved lives with a defensive gun use and I'll cheer for them, frequently for that matter. Show me either a murder under the color of the law or a death by excessive force, I'll call that out too.

Maybe you should scrape up some examples of upstanding Blacks like Ben Carson getting punked out by cops. I will agree that the Minneapolis cop murdered George Floyd. No doubt about that. George Floyd should have been shot dead in 2007 when he pointed a loaded gun at a pregnant woman’s belly. You should probably better examine your heroes. Society is far better off with both of these criminals dead.

 

He wasn't unarmed he had a taser. If it wasn't a taser they could have lost their lives. If you are willing to gamble on that why don't you become a police officer and show them how it's done.

Stop talking about immigrants, and start talking about generational unemployment among blacks.

The reason you don't WANT to do this is you will need to confront the inadequacies of the neoliberal system. which REQUIRES a level of unemployment as a method of wages (and inflation) control (expressed in the NAIRU).

First, make sure the parents have access to secure above poverty employment ....and for that to happen, the whole village will need to be involved.

 

The program, Family Matters, I linked didn't deal with killing black men. It dealt with racial profiling by the cops, pulling over black men and harassing them.

Cops should not be killing any unarmed people.

Certainly not from parents who themselves have grown up in an environment of generational unemployment and poverty.

 

It certainly IS wasted money. But the video suggested moving students from black schools to white schools to solve the problem.....

The problem in Detroit is related to environmental factors, since the city suffered catastrophic demographic and economic changes leading to generational unemployment, and the highest crime and poverty rates in the US.

 

I wonder if your opinion would change if you would had been the officer in this video (and survived). It was just an "unarmed" person. Unarmed people kill other people every single friggin day.
