Anybody protesting there and especially the leaders need to have their US citizenship yanked. After all, aren't they already denouncing their citizenship?

That article cited unnamed police sources, who allegedly claimed businesses were being extorted. Those claims spread quickly through the right-wing media sphere, until police repeated them on Wednesday, prompting more articles and completing the ouroboros of extortion rumors.

The department appeared to backtrack on those claims Thursday, stating its “anecdotal” reports had come from media and social media.

I took those reports of businesses in CHAZ being extorted with a grain of salt.

It may have just been a few instances of aggressive panhandling, and the hardcore homeless flock to these sorts of leftist clown shows, and Seattle breeds some of the hardestcore homeless, and they can be very scary and intimidating in the course of their panhandling.

I really doubt there's any sort of organized extortion of business happening, because organization isn't the loony left's strong suit.

I mean, look at the cardboard gardens. Does that look like the work of people who are organizational masterminds?

The impact is more far-reaching than just "CHAZ" because of the message it sends. It emboldens these types that they can get away with this, and it could be your area next (unless you're safely ensconced in a 100% redder than red area, and even then you never know what trash they might bus in.)

Look at the riots ---- it was one thing to say "who cares, let them burn their own sh*t down", but next thing you knew there were spin off riots all over the country. Nevermind that by that time half of the rioters were idiot millennials just there to chant "F____ the Police!" and take a few virtue signaling selfies before heading back home to Mom and Dad's house for dinner

That is why we can't really turn our backs on these things because NIMBY (not in my back yard), because NIMBY can become your back yard.

 

Not even remotely a legal possibility. And no, they are not renouncing their citizenship. There is a set process in place for that, and the sh11tbaggery they are exhibiting does not fulfill the requirements for renouncing.
