What is your agenda? You want to broaden the scope, because you don't want to talk about and be held responsible for what was done in America.

Why should I be held responsible for something that happened hundreds of years before I even existed?

Slavery existed before America did. This is just an attempt at theft.

So my tax dollars won't be used to pay reparations?

    Promise?

Can I get that in writing?

Something gnawed at me from the moment I saw your post but I couldn't put my finger on it. What you're saying is Americans had a need for labor and black Africans went out and captured and sold them. And for that the blame goes to America?

Are you prepared to take the good associated with the role America played in freeing slaves?

Obviously some are not into helping the situation yet they refuse to answer the question, name us another country with a population of over 200 million people where Blacks are treated better or have more opportunity than in the USA. The whining falls on deaf ears.
    1. Put a father in the home.
    2. Stop shooting each other.
    3. Start taking education seriously.

Black Americans were far better off one hundred years after the abolition of slavery than they are today. That's because about sixty years ago the Democrat party decided to adopt them as a personal pet project. At the time, black high school graduation rates, employment/unemployment rates, incarceration rates, crime rates, marriage and divorce rates, and out of wedlock births were all on par with whites. The Democrat party essentially destroyed black Fatherhood, replacing it with handouts, thus destroying the black family, neighborhood, schools and so on. It all goes to the family which is the foundation of society.

Tim Kaine was Hillary Clintons running mate. The Democrat cities and strongholds that went for Clinton/Kaine in the last election are the very cities with all the racial turmoil. So for Kaine to invoke slavery as if to divert attention from his own party's stunning failures which are central to the issue, is rich.

Freeing the slaves brought an end to it, it didn't pay restitution for the 200yrs of slavery.

What does any of that have to do with 200+yrs of slavery and 100yrs of Jim Crow segregation that black folks suffered in this country.

It has everything to do with what is going on today. Slavery ended over 200 years ago, try evolving and take your wrath out on the African kings that traded their own people to Muslum slave traders who shipped them all over the world.
You want relations to improve, how about speaking to the opportunities available and that leads to my question that you keep dodging.
Name me a country with a population of over 200 million people where blacks are treated better or have more opportunities.
Remove the chip, start speaking positively, and watch things continue to get better.

I realize it's just twitter blabber, and it should just be ignored, but I'll take the bait and set the record straight.

Yeah, that whole 'Jewish slaves' in Egypt thing never did happen.

It's a myth. The Egyptians built the pyramids, and the Jews didn't even exist as a cohesive society until long after the last pyramid was built.

The Jews sat down to write their story, and they concocted a whale of a tale with slavery, and mean old Pharaoh, and pyramids...

But none of it really happened.

It was the Europeans who established their slavery in the Americas, not Southerners and no connection to what we call conservatives today.

Basically every society that held slaves throughout history justified slavery with their religious beliefs.

But I guess we're supposed to pretend it was something unique to Southern Conservative slaveholders in America.

I reiterated what the OP told you, and obviously it has to do with how many Black folks came to America in the first place.

I never claimed it justified slavery in America, just as slavery in America didn't justify Africans enslaving Africans and participating in the slave trade, whether that be now or in the past.

    No, I did not.

Stop running from History. It's a fact that White Union soldiers fought to free slaves, and the fact that White Confederates fought to keep them enslaved doesn't change that fact.

And the Whites who fought them and led the fight against them have statues and monuments honoring them today. Here's a statue of Abraham Lincoln in Richmond, VA:

Heh. Now you're running away from the present.

    Facts.

The fact that predominantly White Union soldiers ended slavery in the United States in 1865. The fact that Africans still haven't ended slavery in Africa.

What you said is meaningless. Try as you might, you can't run from History.

    You didn't answer my question.

Where are your reparations to the families of the Union soldiers who fought and died in Hell holes like the Wilderness and Cold Harbor to end slavery in 1865?

Your freedom didn't come free - they paid for it with their lives. The least you could do is compensate them financially for their losses.

    They enslaved White settlers, too.

In fact, some of the earliest literature in America were the 'captivity narratives' written by Mary Rowlandson and others who were fortunate enough to survive and recount their ordeals:

A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson

Mary (White) Rowlandson was a colonial American woman who was captured during an attack by Native Americans during King Philip's War and held ransom for 11 weeks and 5 days. After being released, she wrote A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson, also known as The Sovereignty and Goodness of God. It is a work in the literary genre of captivity narratives. It is considered to be one of America's first bestsellers, four editions appearing in 1682 when it was first published....
