    The individual in question already proved conclusively, beyond reasonable doubt, that he was an imminent threat when he made the decision to physically assault two law enforcement officers. Once someone demonstrates that they are a threat, they remain a threat until they are physically apprehended, or physically neutralized. Simply leaving the area does not negate threat status, it merely means the threat is on the loose.

    Brooks didn't have a gun, Rolfe didn't have a clear shot, one of his bullets struck a vehicle with 3 people in it.

    Atlanta policy is you don't shoot people in the back, not even with a tazer. Not unless there is an imminent threat. They had patted him down, they knew he didn't have a gun.

    Face it, the cop lost it and was shooting without regard to the safety of the public, or the rules that govern police response.

    After the shooting, they mistreated the dying man, it was a couple minutes before they got concerned about his medical condition. Just enough time to cool off and realise how much they had screwed up.

    He -did- have a weapon.
    "Clear shot" means the absence of obstruction between the shooter and the target.
    He had a claer shot, he simply missed - something exceptionally common in police shootings.
    Cite the source and quote the text.
    He had a weapon; you don't need a gun to be an imminent threat.

    The tolerance on the part of yourself for law enforcement officers, is apparently far less than it is for convicted career felons who do not think twice about harming others for their own benefit.

    He was serving a seven year prison sentence for abuse of a minor at the time of the incident, out on early parole due to the coronavirus situation. Had it not been for that he would still be in prison. Any minor infraction was grounds for his parole being revoked. And having a blood alcohol level over twenty times the legal limit in itself counted at such an infraction. He was going back to prison no matter what, simply because he either could not, or would not, from committing illegal activities.
