They are not the ones being burdened as listed in the ruling. And your second line makes no sense. Why is it most urgent in which areas?
Chief Justice Roberts is the only consevative justice I can respect. It worries me that the other conservative justices consistently decide against what is right. The only people worse than them are the jerkwads trying to shut down abortion clinics in the first place.
Clinics are licensed medical operations... The "trucked in doctors" (or the Audi'd in doctors) have a relationship with the clinic, which is setup to handle the vast majority of issues that could rise with an abortion... If hospitals were an important part of the abortion procedure, they'd be an important part of the abortion procedure....
It's not the clinic it's the DOCTOR that is at issue, hospitals are for when the trucked in doctor botches it and no they don't else they'd have the admitting privilege. Tell the abortionist to get their ducks in a row before they start killing babies.
They feel that they are standing up for those who cannot defend themselves. I at least respect the pro-life position even though I strongly oppose government interference in what people do with their own bodies. The same people who claim to value a womans right to her body would disarm her and hand over that choice to rapists and murderers.
Why does the dr need a relationship with a local hospital? If I'm reading this right, the federal Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act of 1986 (EMTALA) already requires hospitals to provide care, including an appropriate examination and either stabilizing treatment or a medically appropriate transfer. Nothing about "admitting privileges" I read shows its existence is necessary in any way shape or form anymore, especially with Hospitalists now in 75% of the hospitals in the US. It's a silly concept that doesn't work anymore.
Some of us have figured out that a single human cell - aka "The mighty zygote" and a human are not the same. I suggest you start there since you must have skipped this lecture in your biology education.
What is there to respect in a position based on fallacy and misrepresentation. But hey - perhaps I have been misinformed - and a single human cell "aka Zygote" and a "baby" are functionally equivalent to each other. Am I incorrect to assume that the two are not the same ?
I don't really have the time to delve into the reading and try to find you the quote, but put it this way - the State was trying to meet their burden of proof regarding whether their decision was justified, right? If they were able to prove that the current abortion clinics were unsafe for women, then they would have successfully met their burden.
The abortion clinics already meet those medical certifications. The issue with these newer laws is that they are trying to impose additional and unnecessary burdens simply because they want to limit access to abortion.
Red is against building any abortion clinics - never mind safe ones. The laws they make are intended to restrict abortion access - not make things safe for women - and this is not some big secret. Did you not get the memo ?
Oh no... that's not right... they are legitimately concerned over their constituents... As my reading tells me, this was an example of a TRAP law.. Targeted restrictions on abortion providers
the law required abortion clinics to be safer. republicans want them safe and rare. dems want clinics like Kermit Gosnell
Anybody heard from the Orange Slime on this yet today? I know he doesn't read, but he is capable of listening... Tweets-a-coming
Chief Justice Roberts once again shows that he is more interested in his place in history than in doing the right thing. He has done that repeatedly. Starting with protecting Obamacare.
Once again - the intention of the legislation was not to make things "safe" - it was to restrict access. Your claim in relation to "what dems want" is unsupported abject nonsense.
This is about the DOCTOR not the CLINIC. If I were to walk into a ophthalmologist office to get an inpatient cornea transplant and there was sign on the wall that said this doctor has no admitting privileges at any local hospital I'd walk out the door.
