Pray tell, what position is sided with on the part of yourself? Are mask and social distancing requirements justified, or were the protests justified? It is one or the other, not both. NPS has done the evaluation and moderate conditions at best with June having lots of rainfall.

 

Yes, there was a logical reason....it was because the Ponderosa pine in that area became infested with beetles which killed the trees. In those 10 years, the Ponderosa trees have been removed and the land has had many controlled burn in the area to clean up woody debris on the forest floors. Since April, there have been many controlled burns specifically in the Mt Rushmore area to lessen the chance of forest fires from lightning strikes and in anticipation of the return of fire works.

The fireworks display has a Go/No-go checklist that will be gone through prior to the fireworks taking place. Even 1 No-go will cancel the event....even if it is at the last minute. While there will likely be a few spot fires started....and which I have no doubt the media will paint them as raging forest fires,.....there will be 60-80 firefighters staged during the event to contain the spot fires so that they do not spread.

 

The marriage of stupidity and sociopathy gives birth to a death cult and these yoyos think that they are being patriotic by screwing with the environment and risking the well being of other Americans because they are watching fireworks. The most un-American and unpatriotic bunch of pinheads the nation has to offer.

The claim of harm to the environment is nothing more than gas-lighting. This was addressed in the FONSI and potential carcinogens being added to the ground water was mitigated. The claim is nothing more than a grasp at straws in order to provide validation of opposition.

The argument of "no social distancing" is the same grasp at straws. There are many reports justifying the protests saying the virus is much more difficult to spread at out-door activities. While social distancing is not going to be enforced, that does not mean that it is not recommended. The Governor stated that it was the personal responsibility of the viewers to practice safe viewing.

If you are concerned about the spread of the virus at this event, then don't go.

The left did not, does not, and will not care about the spread of Wuhan-19 when it came to Floyd protests - and I saw far thousands of people closer than six feet together and maskless. That ship has sailed, and at this point the concern trolling the left is doing about social distancing and suchlike has officially become a joke. And as far as the fireworks - well, considering how long we've been living with fireworks displays already, I just don't care any more, especially since no one seems to be doing anything about the fireworks going off now. Anyone been concerned about the water supply for the past month? I mean, I live pretty close to the California Aquaduct.
