Full lockdowns were not associated with statistically significant reductions in the number of critical cases or overall mortality.

Translation: Found no evidence that lockdowns actually saved lives.

    Other findings:
    • Higher rates of obesity significantly associated with higher rates of mortality
    • More nurses significantly associated with lower rates of mortality
Gee, it's almost as if there are variables other than lockdowns and masks that inform healthcare outcomes. Who knew?

It's all about control. The fact these very same people threaten to lock you up means they had no credibility to start with. Who actually thought the lockdown was actually going to work?

    Exactly.

This has nothing to do with saving lives or science.

It's about consolidating wealth and power by seizing control of everything.

I'm shocked by how many people - who I used to think were intelligent and perceptive - have allowed themselves to be duped by such an obvious fraud.

Fear is the death of reason.

Did you read the parts where lockdown was associated with quicker recovery and fewer cases? I suspect not.

Protests spread the virus worse than anything. We have seen that in the US.

You're saying 'science deniers' in a thread that quotes a study that literally said that the lockdown didn't help(and obviously it didn't). i won't go as far as saying masks won't/don't help, but it's clear that it's a matter of keeping your germs to yourself rather than systematically trying to trap millions of Americans in their own home.

Let the restaurants and everything else open back up to full capacity, and if you're sick or been near a sick person, stay home for 14-21 days.

These ruinous lockdowns weren't sold to the public based on "quicker recovery" and "fewer cases", but on significant reductions in deaths and serious illness. This study found no evidence that the lockdowns achieved those goals, ergo the lockdowns were not only ruinous, but falsely promoted based on pseudoscience.

By the way, has it ever occurred to you that there might be ways to promote quicker recovery times other than putting millions out of work, destroying thousands of businesses, and forcing millions into prolonged social isolation?

Liberals have assured us that when they gather by the thousands to protest racism, the virus spreads only minimally.

But when anyone else gathers for any other purpose, suddenly the virus spreads maximally.

No doubt they have loads of "science" to back up their assertions.

    I just posted the science.

It found no association between lockdowns and statistically significant reductions in mortality or serious illness.

It did find associations between obesity and mortality rates though.

Maybe Americans should try being less fat?

    What do you think?

~ This does not surprise many if us. Very early warning with total quarentein is effective - but that is seldom possible.
Up next - the masks we are using are close to useless. Cloth bandanas are actually harmful. Respirators are effective but uncomfortable to wear.
Elderly and the infirm need special precautions. Majority of us are ok.

New York has achieved herd immunity.

It also helps that Cuomo killed off most of the vulnerable population in New York a few months ago.

There is no evidence that masks work outside a clinical setting.

Those claiming otherwise are probably liberal arts majors who watch CNN all day.

They know nothing about actual science.

Right, because when liberals gather by the thousands, the virus doesn't spread. But when normal people go to the beach, suddenly the virus spreads like wildfire.

The virus can totally tell the difference between the two situations. The "science" says so.

Wearing a mask is like reducing your speed from 65 MPH to 64 MPH while driving on the highway.

On paper, you could make the argument that your risk has been reduced.

In reality, the reduction in risk is not significant.

The mask fetish is based on splitting hairs and excruciating over fractions of a percent while ignoring far more important variables like diet and exercise.

I wonder if there is a correlation between being an obese liberal and support for lockdowns.

~ I have a more sinister outlook - I believe the mask thing is an opportunity to experiment in social conditioning. Next could be a color for those with certain risk factors so others can treat you like poison.
This entire fiasco smells like sour chop suey with Doc Fauci in the kitchen .

Most people who die from novel coronavirus fall into two categories.

    (1) People who are already on the verge of death due to extreme old age
    (2) People who are morbidly obese

Neither of these groups can be saved by locking down society or forcing everyone to wear masks.

The first group is going to die no matter what we do. And the second group can only save themselves by losing weight.

The more evidence we get, the more obvious it becomes: These ruinous lockdowns were an act of sheer insanity based on blatant junk science.

    “MOST” people

    But not all.

    Question remains

Who are you prepared to say goodbye to among your nearest and dearest?

It's not my claim, it's a direct quote from the study: Lastly, government actions such as border closures, full lockdowns, and a high rate of COVID-19 testing were not associated with statistically significant reductions in the number of critical cases or overall mortality...
