This friggin economy is stalled out by government meddling. Businesses are not closed for fear of the virus, they are closed for fear of being arrested. Name some businesses that closed before they were ordered to?

 

Businesses have defied these government edicts. One result is Governor Abbot didn't even monkey with barbers and hairdressers this time around.

What a Google image research of a photo tells is unimportant and irrelevant! It is important what the person sees live in front of them and nothing else!

The economy is hurting for several reasons: (1) government shutting down or modifying how some businesses operate; (2) some people unwilling to shop because (a) they fear getting the virus by using the business or (b) fear going out shopping; and (3) they have lost income because their business is impacted or they lose or quit their job.

This is a huge demand deficit the Federal Reserve can't solve with easy money. The Fed Chair it made clear...

We're looking into the abyss. If the government doesn't take care of people out of a job because of a lack of demand and/or a likelihood their business would spread the virus--clubs, bars, sports teams--we are heading for a depression.

Airlines haven't been told not to fly. Travel is down. Business travel, too.

You can open your business, but you can't get some people out spending if they fear getting the virus.

The damage to the economy is self inflicted, and so we are to come out of this with a bigger percentage of Americans depending on govt. handouts than are working? Business isn't making PPE because the market is uncertain. We're stilling learning about the virus. Maybe we won't need protecting if there's a cure. Government guarantees it will buy 'x' amount of the production.

 

You can walk into a store today and buy face masks, gloves and hand sanitizer. Somebody made them to sell and Trump still hasn't implemented that longed for government takeover.

There isn't enough good PPE for people who interface with the public. Or people who ride transit. Or people with health conditions. Or people over 60.

 

I'm over 60 and have what I need. Every Dr. office or hospital I have been in the personnel are equipped.

He needs to close bars, clubs, schools, limit restaurants to take-out, and so on. Hairdressers and barbers can operate with appropriate PPE.
