US election: Trump tells North Carolina voters to vote twice

I haven't heard him say either of those things. Meanwhile, I have seen Trump fighting to restrict voter access.

 

Exactly, we’ve been doing mail in voting for years. I always take mine to a drop box. Sometimes jobs or kids prevent people from getting to a polling station.
They are just worried the average voter will interfere with the election results. Lol

 

I trust the system to put some of the people who follow his advice behind bars.

 

I must not be a functioning adult if I don't have a melt down every time Trump says something stupid. His tongue in cheek comment doesn't hold weight in my mind, but I do understand the emotional, predictable reaction from the other side that supports a different elderly sex offender that says stupid things!

BTW, how long do you think catching these crimes would take if people really did vote twice? Longer than the Bush/Gore hanging chad issue?

Unlike you, Trump realized later that his statement had been idiotic, so he did what he had to do. He claimed it was a "joke", but anyone with any objective intelligence knows it wasn't presented as a joke, just like his idea of injecting disinfectant and his claim of COVID being a "hoax".

By controlling the location, hours, amount of equipment, etc. elected officials can control which locations will find it easier to vote.

With the highly specific polling data now available, those in charge can decided whether YOUR polling place will have long or short lines, will be in a place that requires a car to get to, has hours where you will have to miss work (which amounts to a poll tax) if you are an hourly wage earner - but not if you are a salaried employee, as they are allowed to leave work to vote without losing income.

Etc.

Vote by mail means that we all get equal access to voting.

That's a VERY legitimate issue, as well. I feel better about absentee and in person voting because there are at least SOME checks.

With cheat-by-mail, they're just bulk mailing ballots to addresses without verifying who the heck lives there. It's a step backwards, not forwards, in terms of security.
