1) Why should he concede if the initial vote counts are in his favor? 2) How would he fight? A) You can't have a new election. B) The U.S. military will do nothing to involve itself directly in domestic politics.
When all you need is an excuse, any excuse will do: "Yes if he loses on election day. No if he loses later because of votes from wholesale mailings of ballots. Our elections are now rigged."
It was an answer to your question. You asked if Trump should concede the election. Sorry you didn't like the answer.
So suddenly the only votes that count are the ones that get counted on election day? You manage to sneak in and rewrite the law?
It wasn't my question, and your answer was a lie. The elections are not rigged, you are trying to rig one by not counting all the votes.
"Yes if he loses on election day. No if he loses later because of votes from wholesale mailings of ballots. Our elections are now rigged."
I've seen how the Democrats do things. Like they did in the governors race a couple of decades ago in Washington I think it was. The Republican got the most votes. But the Democrats kept requesting recounts. With each recount the race got tighter. Then finally a recount resulted in the Democratic candidate getting the most votes. The Democrats declared "Hallelujah! The election is over". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_Washington_gubernatorial_election
Trump will say it was the most honest election ever if he wins and fraud if he loses, that is just Trump.... Trump doesn't care about this country or it's future after he loses, we just ignore the one term loser....
If it's close, the normal response would be to recount the districts that were close enough for an error to make a difference. If there are a lot of mistakes found, it could result in investigating other areas as well.
Trump must "pass the baton" if it is verified and proven that he has, indeed, lost the election to another legitimate candidate who has legally won the election. If that can't be proven beyond 'a reasonable doubt' then we'll all have to examine the situation that exists at the time.... My gut-feel is that this election will be hotly contested, no matter who the 'apparent winner' is, and that nobody is going to know exactly WHO the president will be for the next four years until Inauguration Day, January 20, 2021. And, yeah, the whole damned thing will probably end up being decided by the Supreme Court....
That's how my husband and I feel, as well. I'm sure lawyers for both sides have been preparing briefs for every possible contingency, in every potential battleground district. The divide of Americans, caused by politicians, is only good for politicians and lawyers. We need to start talking to each other, again. We have more in common with each other, than any of us have with those asshats in DC.
Should Biden? Hillary says no and he has already hired a team of over 50 lawyers to fight the results if he does. Hillary Clinton says Biden should not concede the election 'under any circumstances' The former Democratic presidential nominee predicted Republicans could try to “mess up absentee balloting” for a narrow advantage in the Electoral College. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/20...ould-not-concede-2020-election-under-n1238156
No he has not he has said he will not engage commitments in a hypothetical situation. We don't how bad it might get when the polls close, there may be very serious concerns as to the counts and rulings judges are willy nilly handing out to change the rules after the election is over if not before. He'd be a fool to say that yes he commits to the it no matter what happens. As I have noted Hillary loudly told Biden he should NEVER accept the results if he loses. She certainly never has.
What we need is to get back to what we were doing before and you go to the polling place show your ID and are handed your ballot you fill it out and run it through the tabulation machine and it's done. What we don't need are all these rushed untested voting systems with ballots being mailed out by the tens of thousands to unconfirmed address and judges changing the rules and acting like legislators and telling the state how they will run their elections.
If you are talking about your own state, you should work towards that. If you are talking about other states; they aren't even required to get the voice of the people before choosing their EC delegation. So, if there is an issue in your state, worry about that. If not, don't worry - it's 50 unique elections; and your election isn't related to any other election.
That IS what I do in my state and we are just beginning to see the problems andnlist and discarded ballots in other states showing up as in just the latest from Pennsylvania with military ballots being improperly handled by election officials and bags of mail including ballots found in a ditch.
The only way Trump "concedes" is if Biden wins huge (which he should considering what a s**t-show the last four years have been). Seriously, I honestly don't know what goes through a person's head who thinks Trump should get four more years to continue his path of destruction. I have a hope, a small one, that a lot of liberal-hating Trumpers will tell their friends they are going to the polls to help re-elect Trump, and then when they get there secretly vote for Biden because they aren't...you know, crazy. More likely, if he loses, Trump will rip the country apart, incite violence in the streets, and spend the rest of his life calling the results "bogus."
Yeah. Lots of USPS shenanigans right now. We're going to take our ballot to a drop off location. We're not mailing it back. I'm sorry there are issues in your state. This election is going to be decided by judges.
And election officials improperly opening and discarding ballots. There are no issues in my state we do not have mass mail in voting, I was citing another state.
And of course Hillary has told Biden to never concede if he loses. And frankly I don't know what goes through a persons head who would put Biden and Harris into the White House with a Democrat congress. I have a hope a small one that conservative hating anit-Trumpers will remember the total disaster of an economic recovery was the Obama/Biden, all his failed foreign policy positions and his inability to even campaign and get through a simple press conference. I think many will secretly vote for Trump so as not to tell their friends and neighbors just as last time.
