Holy cow. They are starting to fall like fly's.
Kelly Ann was just diagnosed with Covid.
It's starting to look like the Supreme court nomination event in the rose garden was a super spreader event.

They had as many WH staffers get sick today as did Taiwan. Taiwan has a mask order in place. For some completely baffling reason, the mask mandate seems to be working. Explain that, science!!!

Have you considered employment in the Trump administration? You are spot on with their talking points.

Minor nit-picking?? President Trump has never said everyone always recovers from this illness. That was a lie. So it's nit-picking to call you out on it?

I guess it's not really surprising.

YA, it's minor meaningless nit-picking....I made my point...…:) Send him some Kleenex, he'll be fine as soon as he's over the "sniffles"...

I was minus 3 years old. My parents, staunch republicans forever, cried when Kennedy died. That's how Americans treat the president, regardless of party and politics.

Seems the Amy Barrett announcement was a super spreader event.

    The original post was this:
It reads (at least to me) as if there's some requirement for public notification before the transfer of power can legally take place. The point I was trying to make was that there is not any such requirement. Sure, the letter the President sends to Congress will probably eventually get published in the Congressional Record or something, and it's probably good form to let people know about it at some point, but there's no requirement there that would 'not allow' them to transfer power to Acting President Pence. That's all I'm trying to say (probably poorly).

Oh, I see what you're getting at now. I didn't write that original comment but my take on it is that we, the people, are entitled to the information. It certainly doesn't mean STOP everything we're doing and notify the public FIRST!!! (or, I would hope they take care of business as efficiently as possible. LOL). @Lucifer commented that it happened twice with Cheney wherein we weren't told until the power reverted back to the President.

@Curious Always, please correct me if I misunderstood your post.

Kennedy didn’t let 200k die so he could pretend nothing is wrong and get re-elected.

I do mean we have a right to know. Not necessarily immediately. It seems shocking to me that a VP could be acting president for weeks on end, and we have no right to know. Apparently, that is true.

There is only one president at a time. Anything else has anarchy potential.

No, I wasn't trying to pick on you or continue to beat a dead horse, just explaining to MJ the point I was trying to make. It was intended cordially, and not directed towards you, but I apologize if it seemed otherwise.

I had the most amazing party in January of 1986. Hard to be mad at a fellow 46 to 10. You annoy me, but not always.

    To me as well.

We don't know who all have been infected through contact tracing. So far, it looks like Pence and Pelosi are negative but will have to quarantine. I bet they are all getting their ducks in a row trying to sort this out from every angle. What a mess. And, it's sad that so many people are happy about all this. Politics aside. We are people first. I hope the cocktail of meds and OTCs are helping the POTUS fight the virus.

Seriously. It seems partisans on both sides are more worried about the optics than the actual fact that our president is in the hospital, with a few comorbid conditions. That's my ONLY concern. I do not care about Trump, specifically. I care very much about THE President. Were Trump a private citizen, I would have empathy at the level I have empathy for all 200,000+.

I'd say the same about Hillary, and I've disliked her since the big cookie bake off during the Clinton/Bush campaign.

There is an old adage demonstrated in this video.

A mask in the hand is just as worthless as two in the Rose Garden bush. (While hugging cheak to cheek!)

We are all Americans at our core. Now's not the time for political gotchas but to come together. I echo your call and join it.

Come on. Let's not get melodramatic here. Let's not allow any politicisation of the claim that Trump has the nasty. 200,000 + US citizens have died because of it. It would have been great to see comments about 'coming together' well before this. Trump himself has never asked the US to come together over the fact that Joe Blow down the road had the nasty, or that 200,000 + have died! He underplayed it!!!!! Showed zero empathy for those people, not one ounce of it. Leave the hypocrisy at the door, please.

I'm the opposite of hypocritical. I do not wish any harm on any president of the United States. I don't particularly care about the irresponsible buffoon that is Donald Trump. I care more about the people who died that he didn't care about.

It is a very important distinction. I would love to put him in the "oh well, too bad, so sad," category, because it is where he belongs, but, he is a PRESIDENT, and that qualifies as a "****, we don't need this right now, while living in Sucksville, Planet Earth."

He should own this infection, but the world may pay the price. We don't want him to die.

    This is BAD. VERY bad.
