The one tax graph you really need to know - The Washington Post
    upload_2020-10-14_18-43-20.jpeg

Sep 19, 2012 — But here is really the only tax graph you need: It's total tax burden by income group. And as you'll see, every income group is ...

For 40 years Republicans have been cutting taxes on the rich and giant corporations and the result is huge state and local taxes and fees that kill the non-rich. Wake up and smell the coffee

How do you know that we don't tax the rich enough? It's unconstitutional to tax assets, so you have no clue who is rich and how much they pay in taxes. Woody Wilson and his fellow progressive fascists and assorted Democrats gave us the Income Tax. If not for taxing income the Feds couldn't touch our stuff without just compensation.

    Link doesn't work.

I ask again. What states have those high tax burdens on the poor?

Are they primarily Democrat ran or Republican ran?

The only way to to make some of them pay their fair share is to eliminate all tax deductions. As far as the tax rate goes, I support an unfair tax rate where the rich pay more. Mostly because they can with less consequences to their health, personal growth, and general well-being.

Could you use your education to explain why the states with the highest tax burdens are all ran by Democrats?

You or politicians haven't the clout to take from the rich! They will simply relocate and make bank like the Chiners do and export in to the U.S. while paying drones pennies to turn out stuff you no longer can get "MADE IN AMERICA"! Well that and those no longer working in the U.S. that can't afford food anymore!!

That tug sailed decades ago before we embraced free global marketing, now the high cost U.S. labor has no leverage!

So, you don't know. You take the word of people whose only contribution to the country is playing on the envy that they manufacture in people unwilling to do any homework. Thanks.

These educated people live in places like Illinois and California and complain about the high taxes and evil Republicans.

It's not Republicans cutting the electricity, charging you huge per gallon taxes on gasoline, and creating housing shortages by exorbitant taxation.

The geniuses haven't figured out yet that those are Democrats doing that.

That's true. We need tarrifs on end products produced outside the USA but we won't get that unless people start voting for our future instead of squabbling over social policies BS which should not be the governments business anyways.

They are both bad in their own way. One bribes you with handouts and the other side bribes you with tax deductions. Both do a great job of increasing our debt.

Oh I'm not a party line kind of guy. Both sides have their good and their bad with being bought out.

There's nothing more voracious than the Democrats when it comes to sucking up everything they can take from you though.

The difference is Democrats believe they can tax their way to prosperity.

    That won't work because:

    a. They'll just increase spending
    b. They'll spend it on the stupidest things imaginable, like trains to nowhere and "gender" study grants

Trump limited tax deductions and spiked the standard deduction ,,, a benefit to the lower earners and a curse to high earners. High earning Democrats want their huge itemized deductions back along with their illegal alien maids, landscapers, and cooks.

    Where did you go?

I noticed you didn't answer my question.

We could use an educated persons opinion on why taxes are highest on the poor in Democrat states.

A graph from 2012 is useless with Dirty Donalds tax rates.

It's like these people on the left are uneducated on where their local tax dollars go to, I will tell you where to $100,000 a year dog catchers ..

    https://www.openthebooks.com/forbes...ith-100k-paychecks-cost-taxpayers-38-billion/

Our auditors at OpentheBooks.com found plumbers in New York City making $285,000 per year; police officers at the Port Authority of New York-New Jersey earning $423,467; Long Island school superintendents making up to $547,049; and a 93-year old college professor retired on a $561,754 pension.

You want the national debt to go down? Smaller government--much smaller government.

The federal government needs to go back in scope to where it was during the inception of the republic.

Unfortunately, it has grown to a proportion not in proportion with our founding documents. And it will only get bigger.

If we're serious about getting the national debt under control and everyone paying their fair share, the answer is simple: much smaller government and a flat tax.

There. Problem solved. Unfortunately, it will never happen. But problem solved in the theoretical.

Dirty Donald raised the standard deduction BUT COMPLETELY ELIMINATED THE PERSONAL EXEMPTION. Which almost wiped out all of the higher standard deduction.
