Trump has extracted us from world leadership over and over again.

He's done so wrt the UN, NATO, Paris/climate, nuclear arms, Iran, economic partnerships, tariffs, WHO/healthcare, etc.

In no way has he increased international relations to make up for his strong and steady move toward isolationism.

~ Yes indeed - beautiful post. A silver lining to this black COVID cloud is people reaching out. I see volunteers shopping for the elderly. Acts of kindness pop up now more frequently. We miss each other I suppose.
I often give a "5 spot" to people who look they need it. Usually they stand quietly at a stoplight or store entrance. Giving cat food and flea meds to folks I know who rescue stray /abandoned cats is a favorite habit. My friend bailed out a homeless man's dog from the shelter { $150. } - " Because
I was there and could do it
    ".
Believe it or not there are more of us "suckers" out here than you think ! :aww:

~ And that likely is exactly how the majority of us who vote Trump feel .

We got our new puppy tonight "Chewy" a mix of chiwawa and blue healer (this pic is a few weeks old) I have a crate for him, rough day for the little guy, seperated from mom and siblings, riding in strange trucks. 120467552_611221112879037_2160867739271057169_n.jpg This thread needs more puppies, can we have ONE Trump free thread here? (Not you James, others)

Good luck getting a Trump hate free thread. Especially when you mention separating little ones from their mother......

Excellent thought. However when one group's primary objective is to destroy the other group it's pretty hard to avoid animosity.

Interesting perspective. When I see a Biden sign, I get, just a little more like China every day. A world where kindness isn't even an option. A world where it's vastly more important for you to fork over your rights, and your freedoms to the political elite because, well, you deserve the shyte that they're going to deliver to you. I don't see kindness when I see a Biden sign. I know better.

You know what makes folks kind? Freedoms. The freedom to entertain their religions. The freedom from having to worry if the thought police are going to arrest you because you said something critical of the elite or government. Every time I see a Biden sign, I see the country spinning into the black hole of authoritarianism. When your presidential candidate says the people don't deserve to know what he thinks, I say take the guy at his word, and assume that his government won't tell you, his media won't tell you, and all you'll get is the shyte that he thinks you actually deserve.

Rod- I agree, in terms of the leaders and radicals of the left. They are what I have decided to call the "Spirit-Killers", the ones who hate your individualism, your personal freedom, your independence, even your right to think differently. For a person to experience some appreciation for kindness given or done, they have to have some positive spirit, some belief in their fellow man, still in them even at the worst of times. These people do not. They lead another ominous group- the equivalent of the zombie apocalypse.... also known as "Peaceful Protestors" with molotov cocktails and carts of stolen merchandise.

It makes sense to be kind, considerate and helpful to most people, and that often results in it being payed forward and spreading. I think the spirit-killers see that as a threat, as they do anything that lifts people and gives them purpose and value in life. No matter how kind we may wish to be, there are some who will be destructive to society so long as they are free to do so. That leaves culling them out as the only alternative.

???? I don't think you could call it a "Hound Dawg", or even a cattle dog as his heritage.... but sure looks like a snuggly lap puppy for now. I think at one time or another we have all wished puppies would stay the same forever. Dogs love unconditionally. We could learn a lot from them. Enjoy!

    Amen.

I've never done the Pay It Forward thing at the drive thru but it's a good idea.

I have given $100 tips before a couple times when it looked like it would be a difference maker but I can't afford to do it regular.

For whatever reason I've always enjoyed being the handy helper guy like if you see a car with the hood up you ask him if they need any help or a jump, I love giving jumps....

Had a really interesting experience a few months back where some guy had blown a tire on his trailer at the gas station near my house. I pulled up to see the problem and knew that he was screwed so I told him to sit tight for 5 minutes, I had 3 Jacks at home and also had a matching tire and cordless tools, he was lucky I used to refurbish trailers and saved the usable tires. So I had all the correct parts and knew exactly what to do

Saved his Sunday for sure, had him back on the road in 20 minutes, refused cash. Just said "pay it forward , and buy a spare monday"

I don't know if this is true but I was told once a long time ago that the Japanese have a tradition where the younger people Park in the farthest parking spot a way to allow old people or those in need to park close.

Anyway I've been carrying that forward for a couple decades now I almost always park a few spots back, even if its raining.

Wonderful! I've helped many a break-down over the years, been offered payment most of the time- and always refused, with the idea it encourages people to help others.
    Good Show!

Not to be a downer, but here's a different one.

little girl maybe 10 at a bus stop, freak rain, its pouring, i'm driving by, I know where the lives but dont know name or parents.

A good Samaritan in the old days would stopped and offered shelter in the car but we can't in 2020, no chance, my car & description would be on stranger danger news at 6.

anyway, I enjoy random breakdown stuff it gives me an opportunity to provide assistance within my skillset.

Spim, you are right of course. That is the difference between a society with healthy people, and one harboring dangerous ones. While there will always be some of the latter, the percentage of them among us makes the difference in our safety, how easy it is to be a good citizen, and how much we can reach out and work together. These days even suggesting buying a hungry person a hamburger can result in someone with an agenda accusing you of wanting to feed them unhealthy foods.

Seriously? Criticized for providing a hamburger??

I'm sure you were trying for some example here, but I really don't know what.

Very nice and altruistic philosophy. Many light years away from the Trump views though!

    Hah! Really?

What "group" was in the topic post other than all of us? It's more like "part of some groups" rather than some grand binary split. The original post was about stepping away from all that partisan nonsense. I think it's more than a "thought."
