Wasn't a legal theory, I was just having fun with this nonsense, given its utter absurdity.

    Here is my legal theory:

the actual statement: "If Trump and the Republicans win the election, DMC will hopefully be able to continue operating, more or less as it has been operating lately... However, if Biden and the Democrats win, DMC could be forced to begin permanent layoffs beginning in late 2020 and/or early 2021."

has absolutely 100% chance of being thrown out of court, 80% chance of being labeled a frivolous lawsuit and 50% chance of the lawyer being reprimanded/fined for wasting court's time with this utter nonsense.

    We are patriots, you're not.

But don't worry: that's just how it be sometimes.

Actually, FL law prevents firing someone based on how they vote or want to vote. See: https://www.flsenate.gov/Laws/Statutes/2012/104.081

Good thing this guy got a lawyer.

Good thing for the company that they did not fire him based on how they vote or wanted to vote.

Like I said, hopefully, the former employer files a countersuit to have this former employee pay their legal bills.

All of his employees got the letter not just the guy who leaked it to the media and got fired. The company president does not have a leg to stand on that letter is pure intimidation.

The article I read this morning said he was fired because he objected to this letter. Let's see what happens.

He made others aware of the letter. The employer was dead wrong to try to coerce his employees to vote for his political choice.

Seems like he should prefer the Dems since they make tools for aircraft maintenance and Pelosi has $$$ for the airlines.
But of course he's a trumper so it doesn't need to make sense.

Gosh, well that IS worrying. Considering how many people were threatened the same way, and for not just loss of jobs ... but also loss of status, relationships, family, etc ... in 2016. I know (far too many) people who were very open about it, announcing it on social media and the whole nine yards. Put themselves on record.

Weirdly, nothing happened to them. No one was charged, or interrogated by the media, or even told to calm down by well meaning friends. Tumbleweeds.

It seems to be more of a fact than a threat. The company appears to make money via supplying the military and aerospace projects. That's all just the based on the small description I read though. I am sure the owner would know more about it than any of us.

Nobody was threatened with a loss of their job. It is fundamentally no different than Big Oil saying that if Biden wins, Big Oil will suffer which Biden has promised to make happen.

All the employer did was warn them business is business.

It's a right to get fired state, they don't need a reason.

As much as it pains me to be in agreement with RiR, why is it you prefer to respond with this rather than just posting your source?

Even if you submitted the OP based on, say some MSNBC or CNN clip, then you apparently went at least far enough to determine that the story was readily available online.

Folks around here on your side of the issue, like myself for example, would appreciate a link as well.

Heh, yea right..that owner better show up to the many many court dates this employee will have time to show up for once financed by the DNC. If the terminated employee starts a go fund me, He should be set up nicely. Then appeal after appeal after appeal till we get to the supreme court in a decade.

Good job Guy...Dont threaten peoples jobs based on how an election turns out is the lesson. Just do what you gotta do.

When they voluntarily threaten you to do something, then fire you when you don't do it, or whistle blow..then that's grounds for a lawsuit.
They have that law so you dont give a reason. Once you do then its like waving your Miranda right.

Yea he would have done better just firing everyone after the election. Warning them was a huge mistake.

Are You Protected From Retaliation Under the Florida Whistleblower Act?
    February 19, 2018

    Matthew K. Fenton

The Florida Whistleblower Act was enacted to protect public and private sector employees from being terminated or retaliated against by their employers for reporting illegal or unethical acts perpetrated by their employers. But who is classified as a whistleblower in Florida and what rights do these individuals have under Florida law?"
