Business owners should have been warning employees when Obama was elected, millions lost their jobs BECAUSE OF OBAMACARE. Telling the truth is not voter intimidation.

So you think the timing makes a difference? Would you see it as not 'intimidating' if he'd said as much when Biden won the nom? Or when Biden announced candidacy?

What if instead he'd said 'more industrial regulations will make it harder for me to employ all of you'? That is, after all, the point he was making, but would you find that wording less 'intimidating'?

I challenge you to quote whatever it is I've said that leads you to believe I have a double standard here. Until then, you simply don't know me as well as you think you do.

    @Xyce

Interesting. 700 economists including 7 freaking Nobel Prize winners disagree with you on who is best for the US economy. It's peculiar to notice that the Trump campaign berated them for not saying why Biden would be better; the usual lying strategy, because indeed they did say why Biden would be better.

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/more-700-leading-economists-including-122343575.html

Looks like Biden would be good for the world economy as well (which ultimately would bounce back and benefit us, too):

    https://markets.businessinsider.com...330?utm_source=yahoo.com&utm_medium=referral#

Not to forget, good for our GDP.

"the Goldman team estimates such a package could raise the US output by two to three percentage points over the coming years."

I grant you that inflation would indeed probably go up, apparently.

Anyway, I'm no authority. But frankly, I'd take the opinion of 7 Economics Nobel Prize winners over some Internet warrior's.

Since the ACA (Obamacare) is a private contract you as a customer make with a private health insurance company, operating under specific government regulations, what could possibly have made employers fire employees related to the ACA???? Employers were not offering their employees company plans, why would they fire them??? There is no connection.

Yes. It's pretty suspect. If it looks like a pig, walks like a pig, has a nose that looks like an electric outlet and a tail that looks like a corkscrew, smells like a pig, and goes "oinc, oinc", it's a pig.
Maybe a little bit less so.
Well, if he said so, while saying "if Trump wins... if Biden wins... etc., this close to the election, it's still intimidation. Put lipstick on a pig; still a pig.
Sure, I'll grant you this part of the argument. Maybe I jumped to conclusions about you; my apologies if I did. Maybe the double standard doesn't apply to you. It does apply to many Trump supporters, though, and assorted Republicans.

Let me school you then, companies with over a certain amount of employees had to offer plans to full-time employees. To avoid this, many companies would keep employees as part time only and some were laid off as the expense of adding plans for all employees with the high prices of the ACA was more than some companies could afford.

Lots will die if Trump wins.
Like the Argentinian president wisely said, you can bounce back from unemployment, you can bounce back from an economic downturn, but you can't bounce back from DEAD. Except in Game of Thrones but that's fiction.
And by the way, 700 economists including 7 Economics Nobel Prize winners have just published a manifesto considering that the Biden economy will be better than the Trump economy. So your assertion is not a given.

Ha ha ha. You don't need legal expertise for this nonsense, just a little common sense. the letter is as close to intimidation as "“Warning: Cigarette Smoking Is Dangerous to Health and May Cause Death from Cancer and Other Diseases.” disclaimer is.

My guess is he was fired for damaging the reputation of the business by running to the media with a silly claim. Don't get me wrong, it was a dick thing to do and if my boss had done it I would vote the other way out of spite, but I don't see this as legally tantamount to intimidation since he never directed an employee to vote one way or the other or else.

Why was it a dick think to do to let employees know that the economic changes under one president's leadership could cost jobs?

Almost like the ACA was a middle ground that Republicans had previously endorsed.
I agree, they should have pushed through a national healthcare program once the “party of no” stopped acting in good faith.

Because it is probably not true and even if it were true, there is nothing they can do about so he is adding emotional turmoil to an already stressed as hell group of people.

Why are they stressed as hell? I would think possibly being laid off would be very stressful though.

When the leader of the country undermines the effort to contain a dangerous virus at every opportunity, things derail more than they otherwise could have. Trump mocks masks, says people have nothing to fear, pushes ineffective treatments, etc. It then makes gullible people bolder and more exposed to contagion. This is not even the worst part. Trump has been listening to a quack, a moron, a junk-science pusher in Scott Atlas and is embracing the extremely boneheaded "herd immunity" approach. This is recent and hasn't been disastrous yet but if he is re-elected he is likely to go full speed in that direction which will inevitably be a full-blown disaster for a LARGE number of reasons I've explained elsewhere and don't feel like repeating now. You can advance-search my posting history with the keywords herd + immunity and me as the post author if you want to learn more. Trump's CDC has been ordered to curtail testing which is another extremely wrong and boneheaded approach. While controlling the virus is at this point very difficult given how it's been seeded everywhere, still, some sensitive and unifying leadership instead of destructive and divisive minimization will at least decrease to a certain degree the number of dead people. NOT going for herd immunity is likely to decrease by literally the hundreds of thousands the number of dead people.

Look, due to my lifelong activity as a medical professional, my MAIN objection to Trump's re-election is the consequences I see for the management of the pandemic if he gets four more years. I've explained my position (and the science behind it) in numerous posts, as the bulk of my posting here since I joined, has been on this issue.

Lately I've been fatigued. I've seen so much misinformation, so much misguided arrogance, so many armchair experts passing judgment on medical and public health matters without having the slightest clue about what is really going on, that I decreased my posting on this. I got too frustrated and started placing too many people on Ignore (those who were issuing the most incredibly clueless statements with a level of arrogant certainty that was frankly irritating). So please don't get me started again. I'm not likely to go there. But like I said, if you want more, you can explore my posting history.
