You didn't answer the question. How will less people die if Biden is president?

    Where was it modeled from?

I agree with you though, Democrats were foolish to believe Republicans would act in good faith with a program they previously supported. Hopefully they don’t do this again when they have the opportunity to push through a national healthcare program.

The way I see it: 'I will do ____ to you if you vote for ____' is intimidation.

'____ will happen if you vote for ____' is just politics.

Do you think its more likely that either of the people of topic in this thread are trying to say they will be cutting jobs or raising rent as a deliberate form of retribution? Or do you think they meant it as a warning of what they think they'll have to do to make ends meet as a result of the political policy they believe the candidates will enforce on them?

How sick that people are so partisan that they would defend this immoral behavior?

Voter intimidation is not only a crime. It's despicable. I don't care who does it in favor of which candidate. It should rejected by every true American.

Do you have a copy of the letter. Even without seeing it, I doubt the letter said anything similar to "Vote for Biden and lose your job."

Something along the lines of "The election outcome may shift economic conditions and if "XYZ" legislation happens, we may see workforce reductions," would be different from "If Biden wins the election we're getting rid of half of workers."

Anyway, all you can do is speculate unless you've seen the actual letter. An allegation from a disgruntled employee may or may not be based on legitimate grounds.

Every "true American" should have condemned the looting and rioting of the past summer but I witnessed half the country applauding it and calling it peaceful protests. When they did that, I ceased giving a damn what they thought was a moral or immoral..... as did just about every other "true American".

Yes, I did. Re-read what I said. Haven't you noticed this part?
"still, some sensitive and unifying leadership instead of destructive and divisive minimization will at least decrease to a certain degree the number of dead people. NOT going for herd immunity is likely to decrease by literally the hundreds of thousands the number of dead people."

Look, presumably these business owners are not complete idiots who would phrase it in a way that would be CERTAIN to get them indicted under a federal felony. But it doesn't pass the smell test, and can still be grounds for prosecution given the wording in the law which does provide for even vaguer intimidation still legally being seen as intimidation.

No, that doesn't answer the question at all. It's a vague statement following dem talking points. I want details.

Flimsy at best and would never make it into a court. Nothing in the letter says they have to vote for Trump as a condition of employment. There are lots of jobs at stake if Biden wins, this is a demonstrable fact. The CEO has the truth on his side and I assume the terminated employee violated a non disclosure policy and may find themselves named in a counter suit. I think the letter was a little bit over the top and bad form but i don't see anything actionable there except the ex employee might have some legal problems.

Only if you consider that Biden's political career spans more years than Trump's, so, duh, if you add up people who died from natural causes + car accidents + gunshot wounds etc x 47 years versus x 4 years, sure, but if that's the point you are trying to make, oh boy, it's one of the lamest I've ever read here, and that's something.

Like I said, ABUNDANT DETAIL is in my posting history under Herd Immunity. I won't spend three pages re-typing everything here, and I've already explained why.
    Sorry, I'm not a democrat.
When I talk about this, it's out of 40 freaking years of being at the highest possible level of professional activity both in research and in clinical care. I pay ZERO attention to a party's talking points since my knowledge of medicine, infectious diseases, virology, and epidemiology and my ability to read and interpret current science are several times more than enough to allow me to reach my own conclusions.

There in my posting history you'll find:

    What exactly is herd immunity
How the herd immunity threshold is calculated
What are the heterogeneous conditions in the population that influence the calculation
    What intervening factors apply
What the price to pay for this approach is
What unintended consequences exist for the approach
What difficulties exist in its implementation
What characteristics of the American population contradict this approach (aging distribution, co-morbidities, general health versus what is found in other countries)
What stats would be likely to happen in terms of number of infected people and number of deaths from that approach
What consequences in disease burden regarding long-term sequelae of Covid-19 would likely happen
What elements make the comparison between achieving the HIT via vaccination versus via natural infection favor the former
What is the status of the various kinds of vaccines, their immunogenicity, and their possible side effects
How to compare the populational incidence of vaccine side effects versus populational consequences of the natural infection

And so on and so forth.

No, you haven't answered it. What would Biden do to lessen covid deaths? You obviously cannot answer this since I've asked 3 times. Specifics like would he force businesses closed down again, would he stand on the border and zap the covid away, come on, details please. Claiming a different president would save lives is a rather bold statement. Surely you can back it up.

See the edit above. I added to my post you've just quoted.
The issue is: Trump is likely to implement herd immunity. Biden is not. Learn more about the unintended consequences and all that I listed above and you will understand.
You want to say I didn't reply. I did. Herd immunity. Explore it.
By the way I'm not a proponent of lockdowns at this point. That's not it, for me.
The border? That's not it either. Other countries have more to fear if we Americans go there, than if foreigners come here, at this point.

Dr. Birx asked Mike Pence to kick out Scott Atlas, in her words, due to his pushing junk science (which is what he does; he's a freaking radiologist). Pence, of course, didn't do anything, because Trump loves the man (he's the guy who tells Trump what Trump wants to hear so naturally Trump loves him, despite his approach being extremely misguided and boneheaded).

For me, likely the biggest benefit of electing Biden, is kicking out Scott Atlas from the White House before he royally screws up and contributes to the death of literally hundreds of thousands of Americans (unnecessarily since there is a much better way).

Look, Biden said he'll listen to scientists. Well, 99.99% of scientists know that going for herd immunity in the US will be a full-blown disaster. There is literally a handful of morons who say otherwise, among them, the idiotic quack known as Scott Atlas.

And "common sense" in your case would be a nice change....Perhaps some education would help?

The UA of unions sent out a letter to members saying why they should vote for Biden. I guess they should also be reported for trying to coerce votes.

So, unless the letter said, "Vote for Biden and you may be laid off," then there is no voter intimidation.

    Need to see the letter.
