Words have consequences, sometimes unintended and unexpected. Yes, even your words.

As I already said, Jews don't have a culture of blood feud.

The root of the conflict is the birth of pan-Arab nationalism triggered by the fall of the Ottoman Empire after WWI, and later influenced by both European Enlightenment ideals and the fall of European colonialism. The Kremlin further fanned the flames of Arab nationalism as a tool to curb western influence in MENA and increase their own, throwing Israel and their own Jewish population under the bus in the process. The anti-Zionist propaganda coming out of the USSR in the 60's is still a leftist dogma.

Here's a sample of said propaganda, from an article in a Jordanian newspaper (translated from Arabic):

I don't deny that with Schehreit what happened in Palestine.
I only doubt your reference to China for a legitimate reason ... ;-)

To be honest, I find these discussions about "who belongs to Palestine" in and of themselves tiring. The Jews refer to the fact that it was all their country around 2,000 years ago ... to which I just "so what?" can say. If we actually start about to whom what, where and how at some point what belongs etc., and that serves as a justification to make a claim on it ... well, then it will become "very funny" on this planet!

Japanese Americans interned in camps during the war received reparations. Not Holocaust victims.

Japan paid $6.67million. Not to Holocaust victims.

Article 8 of the Agreement on Reparations from Germany tells us that individuals had the right to sue for compensations in their own countries, form their own governments that received reparations from Germany.
    https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...-Germany.pdf&usg=AOvVaw3euOv29sN6mJSRHtOMbjfR

It's right there in the first paragraph. The special provisions for the Holocaust victims did not invalidate the right of other individuals to ask compensations. So no, not only Holocaust victims.

No idea why you keep going on about "Blood Feud Culture" - what ever on earth this means - as you have not defined it.

This does not change the fact that the Israel is involved in a Blood Feud -

It is not that China treated them well - just that they were not made refugees the way the Palestinians were.

I concur with your feelings on the silliness of claiming that because someone's ancestors may have occupied some land 3000 years ago - that they have a right to this land 3000 years later.

I much agree, and the idea that any one particular ethnic group "owns" a certain area is rather outmoded anyway.

OTOH the Zionists aren't going by the 3000 years ago business anyway are they? They were given the land due to pressure that was brought on in the latter 19thcentury and culminated in the Balfour Declaration in 1914, a Declaration that was backed by the Arab powers in control at the time (though they really had little choice)

This is a VERY complicated problem. I can't help but think that what they need here is a Gandhi or an MLK, some guy who is willing to use NONviolence and who won't accept anything but that the killing stops even if it kills him

You've obviously read them, standard practice on a discussion board calls for a citation. Thank you very much

The unfortunate reality is that whoever you have in power, America is on the decline.

    I agree with that, sort of;

Doesn't the CIA have a whole section that trains religious leaders to go into such areas and do good for us? And why haven't they done that already. (or maybe they have, and we call them Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden)

Yet it was coming back with Trump at the helm after Obama declared a tepid economy was the new normal. Dems appear to want America to decline.

One thing people generally give Obama credit for was recovering the economy after 2008. Trump took credit for that.

Obama did eventually speak up about US/Israel - something it is supposed to be impossible for an American wanting Political Power to do so he waited till he was out of offiice

Obama follows in Jimmy Carter’s footsteps and speaks out against Israel and AIPAC – Middle East Monitor

I realize that, but it's in the OP itself. Have you read the OP?

We will indeed see a series of American steps to bring back economic aid [to the Palestinians], opening an American consulate in east Jerusalem that could be a source of conflict with the Israeli government, and there could be an invitation of a Palestinian representative to visit Washington,” she continued.

If he doesn't go back on some of the things that Trump did, the US will remain a pariah state to the world. Regarding money, as I understood it, Israel as the occupying power had a duty of care towards the Palestinians, that is the money. During Oslo the US decided it would take to paying this for the five years or so it would take till the two state solution was verified. Of course it never was and although Trump has gone further than any other President suggesting Israel can do unlawful things, it has since before 9/11 been generally thought that it was the US which stopped the two state solution - which is pretty right. All Presidents of the United States have been bowing down to the religious right since after Carter and his suggestions that the Palestinians needed some rights too. They like Netanyahu and the Israeli right never wanted a two state solution.

I hope you're right. And yet, something tells me sleepy Joe will drag Palestinians to the world stage again, to the detriment of the peace in the region.
