No, I quoted the ACTUAL QUESTION that was asked in the survey and then showed the response. It SPECIFICALLY referred to the storming of the Capitol building and not the wider protest. You would know this if you clicked on the link & read the detail there, but I get that reading is hard so I'll quote it again for you:

This is what people were asked. There is NO ambiguity in this. That 45% supported the storming of the Capitol and no amount of deflection & disinformation can change that. The hatred here is on your side and it is hatred for democracy. A solid plurality of Republicans no longer accept the results of elections they lose and this mob simply reflected that.

Maybe you should stick to quibbling about the accuracy of the 45% figure. Perhaps a 'this is just one poll' or even the good old 'polls are all biased' line. At least that can't be disproved by just reading the post you responded to.

 

Georgia did two recounts and there were recounts in large Wisconsin counties. Trumpers just ignored this and demanded votes they didn't like be thrown out. There is literally nothing short of overturning the entire result that they will find acceptable....but you know this already.

Perhaps the knowledge that a cop was killed has changed a few minds. Maybe it was the identification of extremists in the mob. maybe both. Hopefully this is a more accurate representation of Republican sentiment. Having 18% supporting is still not great, but its much better than 45% and it has 80% opposed.

I do notice that only 30% think Trump carries much of the blame, but I suppose we can't have everything.
